Menggunakan cat kuku tidak akan membuat kuku Anda mengidap penyakit. Namun memberikannya jeda untuk beristirahat adalah hal yang bijak. Selain untuk bernapas, menghilangkan cat kuku juga membuat Anda dapat melihat kotoran-kotoran yang terdapat pada kuku bagian dalam.
Anda dapat membersihkan kuku dari cat dengan cairan aseton atau pembersih cat kuku lainnya. Jangan lupa untuk menggunakan sarung tangan ketika melakukan aktivitas yang sekiranya dapat mengotori tangan dan kuku, seperti saat Anda berkebun atau membersihkan rumah.
Melembabkan kuku
Kuku yang kotor dan jarang dirawat biasanya akan mengalami banyak masalah kesehatan, seperti rasa nyeri, kemerahan, pembengkakan bahkan munculnya nanah. Kuku normal
Kuku yang normal dan sehat tampak berwarna merah muda dan bercahaya. Kuku juga tampak kuat, tubuh dengan mudah dan normal (tidak ada kelainan seperti kering atau retak-retak), serta akan melengkung sedikit ketika ditekan (tidak keras).
Kuku jari tangan tumbuh lebih cepat dari kuku jari kaki dengan kecepatan per bulan sekitar 3 mm dan dibutuhkan 6 bulan untuk kuku tumbuh dari akar ke tepi garis. Sedangkan kecepatan tumbuh kuku kaki 1 mm per bulan dan membutuhkan 12-18 bulan untuk tumbuh dari akar ke ujung kuku.
Kuku pucat
Kuku sangat pucat kadang-kadang bisa merupakan tanda penyakit serius, seperti anemia, gagal jantung kongestif, penyakit hati dan malnutrisi.
