Coba Anda buka kembali catatan dunia tentang perjalanan hidup ini! Dalam salah satu babnya diceritakan: shajdan, seorang ayah telah memelihara anaknya dengan baik. Ia memberinya makan, pakaian dan minuman, pendidikannya hingga menjadi orang pandai, rela tidak tidur demi anaknya, rela untuk tidak makan asal anaknya kenyang, dan bahkan, mau bersusah payah agar anaknya bahagia. {Sesunggunya kami memberi makanan kepadamu hanyalah untuk mengarapkan keridhaan Allah. Kami tidak mengharapkan balasan dari kamu dan tidak pula (ucapan) terima kasih.} (QS. Al-Insan :9)
Masih banyak orang berakal yang sering hilang kendali dan menjadi kacau pikirannya saat mengadapi kritikan atau cercaan pedas dari orang-orang sekitarnya. Terkesan, mereka seolah-olah belum pernah mendengar wahyu Illahi yang menjelaskan dengan gamblang tentang perilaku golongan manusia yang selalu mengingkari Allah. Dalam wahyu itu dikatakan :
{Tetapi setelah Kami hilangkan bahaya itu daripadanya, dia (kembali) melalui (jalannya yang sesat), seolah-olah dia tidak pernah berdoa kepada Kami untuk (menghilangkan) bahaya yang telah menimpanya. Begitu orang-orang yang melampaui batas itu memandang baik apa yang selalu mereka kerjakan.} (QS. Yunus:12)
Anda tak pernah terkejut menakala menghadiahkan sebatang pena kepada orang bebal, lalu ia memakai pena itu untuk menulis cemoohan kepada Anda. Dan Anda tak usah kaget, bila orang yang Anda beri tongkat untuk mengiringi domba gembalaannya justru memukulkan tongkat itu ke kepala Anda. Itu semua adalah watak dasar manusia yang selalu mengingkari dan tak pernah bersyukur kepada Penciptanya sendiri Yang Maha Agung nan Mulia. Begitulah, kepada Tuhannya saja mereka berani membangkang dan mengingkari, maka apalagi kepada saya dan Anda.
