Ini dikarenakan posisi orang tua sangatlah mulia, bahkan Rasulullah bersabda Dari Abdullah bin ’Amru radhiallahu ‘anhuma, ia berkata, Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda,
رِضَى الرَّبِّ فِي رِضَى الوَالِدِ، وَسَخَطُ الرَّبِّ فِي سَخَطِ الْوَالِدِ
“Ridha Allah tergantung pada ridha orang tua dan murka Allah tergantung pada murka orang tua” (Hasan. at-Tirmidzi : 1899, HR. al-Hakim : 7249, ath-Thabrani dalam al-Mu’jam al-Kabiir : 14368, al-Bazzar : 2394). Dan berikut ini adalah hak orang tua yang bisa kita praktekan untuk menggapai ridho Allah sehingga hidup kita menjadi berkah.

Menuruti semua keinginan orang tua selama tidak melanggar syariat.
“Dan Rabb-mu telah memerintahkan agar kamu jangan beribadah melainkan hanya kepada-Nya dan hendaklah berbuat baik kepada ibu-bapak. Jika salah seorang di antara keduanya atau kedua-duanya sampai berusia lanjut dalam pemeliharaanmu, maka sekali-kali janganlah engkau mengatakan kepada keduanya perkataan “ah” dan janganlah engkau membentak keduanya, dan ucapkanlah kepada keduanya perkataan yang baik. Dan rendahkanlah dirimu terhadap keduanya dengan penuh kasih sayang dan ucapkanlah, ‘Ya Rabb-ku, sayangilah keduanya sebagaimana mereka berdua telah mendidik aku pada waktu kecil.’” (Al-Israa’ : 23-24). Dalam ayat ini jelas bagaimana kita memiliki kewajiban untuk menaati semua permintaan mereka. Termasuk jika orang tua kita menginginkan sesuatu yang memiliki nilai, misal orang tua kita berkeinginan memiliki sebuah sepatu, maka kita berusaha semampu kita untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut.
Mendoakan orang tua.
Hal ini pun sangat jelas dan gambling Allah jelaskan kepada kita, dimana di dalam Al Qur’an Allah berfirman “Dan ucapkanlah, ‘Wahai Tuhanku, kasihilah mereka berdua, sebagaimana mereka berdua telah mendidikku (di) waktu kecil.’” (QS. Al-`Israa` [17]: 25). Mendoakan orang tua wajib kita lakukan setiap saat, minimal setelah selesai solat. Jika orang tua kita sudah meninggal, maka kita wajib mendoakan agar Allah berikan nikmat kubur dan melapangkannya, karena doa anak soleh merupakan amal jariyah yang tiada terputus ”Apabila manusia meninggal dunia, maka terputus amalannya, kecuali tiga perkara: shadaqah jariyah, ilmu yang bermanfaat atau anak shalih yang mendoakannya.” (HR. Muslim: 1631)
Diperlakukan dengan hormat.
Sangat jelas, bahwa kita wajib menghormati orang tua, karena dari merekalah kita pertama kali mendapatkan perlindungan dan rezeki yang awal saat kita lahir di dunia. Sungguh tidak akan terbeli dengan uang sebanyak apapun air susu ibu yang telah ibu kita berikan kepada kita. Oleh karenanya janganlah sampai kita membuat orang tua kita menangis melainkan menangis karena bahagia akan kita anaknya.
“Dan Rabb-mu telah memerintahkan agar kamu jangan beribadah melainkan hanya kepada-Nya dan hendaklah berbuat baik kepada ibu-bapak. Jika salah seorang di antara keduanya atau kedua-duanya sampai berusia lanjut dalam pemeliharaanmu, maka sekali-kali janganlah engkau mengatakan kepada keduanya perkataan “ah” dan janganlah engkau membentak keduanya, dan ucapkanlah kepada keduanya perkataan yang baik. Dan rendahkanlah dirimu terhadap keduanya dengan penuh kasih sayang dan ucapkanlah, ‘Ya Rabb-ku, sayangilah keduanya sebagaimana mereka berdua telah mendidik aku pada waktu kecil.’” (Al-Israa’ : 23-24). Dalam ayat ini jelas bagaimana kita memiliki kewajiban untuk menaati semua permintaan mereka. Termasuk jika orang tua kita menginginkan sesuatu yang memiliki nilai, misal orang tua kita berkeinginan memiliki sebuah sepatu, maka kita berusaha semampu kita untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut.
Mendoakan orang tua.
Hal ini pun sangat jelas dan gambling Allah jelaskan kepada kita, dimana di dalam Al Qur’an Allah berfirman “Dan ucapkanlah, ‘Wahai Tuhanku, kasihilah mereka berdua, sebagaimana mereka berdua telah mendidikku (di) waktu kecil.’” (QS. Berbicara dengan lemah lembut kepada orang tua.
Hal ini sudah termaktub dalam surat Al Israa yang kami kutip diatas, bahwa jangan sampai kita berlaku kurang ajar kepada orang tua kita dengan meninggikan bahasa kita apalagi sampai membentak orang tua kita. Pun dalam ketidaksamaan pemikiran kita dengan orang tua kita, janganlah sampai kita kehilangan adab kepada orang tua, tuturkan secara santun apa mau kita.
Memberikan nafkah kepada orang tua.
Dalam salah satu hadits yang Rasulullah sampaikan adalah أَنْتَ وَمَالُكَ لِوَالِدِكِ ، إِنَّ أَوْلاَدَكُمْ مَنْ أَطْيَبِ كَسْبِكُمْ ، فَكُلُوا مِنْ كَسْبِ أَوْلاَدِكُمْ
“Sesungguhnya kamu dan hartamu adalah milik orang tuamu. Dan anak-anakmu adalah bagian dari penghasilanmu yang baik, maka makanlah dari penghasilan anak-anakmu.” (HR. Abu Daud dan Tirmidzi). Oleh karenanya jika orang tua kita sudah tidak berpenghasilan, maka kewajiban kita sebagai anaklah yabg menanggung kehidupannya, terlebih bagi anak laki-lakinya. Lebih baik lagi jika kita rawat orang tua kita yang sudah renta tinggal satu rumah dengan kita, sehingga kita bisa mengetahui kesehatannya waktu demi waktu.
Berbuat baik kepada orang yang dicintai orang tua.
Hal ini pun sangat penting bagi kita yang memiliki kekerabatan dalam keluarga besar. Jikalau orang tua kita amat sayang kepada adiknya yang merupakan paman atau bibi kita, maka kita wajib berbuat baik kepada paman dan bibi kita. Inilah indahnya Islam yang selalu memperhatikan hal hal sampai sangat detail, sehingga kekerabatan dan kekeluargaan terjaga dengan harmonis.
Meminta izin kepada orang tua.
Dalam urusan jihad pun, kita sebagai anak memiliki kewajiban untuk meminta izin kepada orang tua. Bahkan dalam sebuah riwayat kedudukan orang tua lebih tinggi dari kedudukan jihad. Dimana dalam riwayat tersebut, ada seorang laki laki meminta izin kepada Rasulullah, lalu Rasulullah menanyakan apakah ia masih memiliki orang tua, lalu laki laki itu menjawab iya, dan Rasulullah bersabda “Maka pada keduanya, hendaklah engkau berjihad (berbakti).’” [HR. Al-Bukhari dan Muslim].
Memenuhi janji atau sumpah orang tua.
Seperti yang kita fahami bersama bahwa janji merupakan hutang, dan jika kita mengetahui orang tua kita memiliki janji atau hutang, maka kewajiban kita sebagai anak yang harus membantu dalam menyelesaikan janji tersebut. Apalagi jika orang tua kita sudah meninggal, maka kita sebagai anak wajib untuk menyelesaikannya dengan segera.
Kiranya kita bisa mengamalkan apa yang menjadi hak orang tua kepada anak. Dan kita minta kepada Allah, agar orang tua kita selalu diberikan perlindungan baik di dunia dan di akhirat dan kelak kita bisa berkumpul kembali di jannahNya yang terindah, aamiin.
