Syaikh ‘Abdul Ahad Dawud yang dulunya bernama Benjamin Kaldani, seorang Profesor Telogi, dan seorang Imam Katholik bagi sekelompok orang Kaldan, yang menguasai beberapa bahasa. Akan tetapi setelah penelitian mendalam terhadap al-Kitab, dia mengungkap sesuatu yang tidak diragukan lagi, yaitu kebatilan agama Kristen dan Bilbel. Lalu dia mengumumkan keislamannya di Instambul Turki, kemudian menyusun buku “Muhammad In The Bible” (Muhammad dalam al-Kitab) dan buku-buku lainnya.
Sesungguhnya beberapa pendorong yang menjadikan seorang Imam Katolik menyatakan keislamannya adalah banyak. Dia berkata saat ditanya, ‘Bagaimana Anda menjadi seorang muslim?’ Dia menulis, ‘Sesungguhnya hidayahku kepada Islam tidak mungkin dinisbatkan kepada sebab apapun selain pertolongan Allah U. Tanpa hidayah Allah, maka setiap bacaan dan penelitian, dan berbagai upaya yang dilakukan untuk mencapai kebenaran akan sia-sia. Maka masa-masa yang aku di dalamnya beriman kepada keesaan Allah, dan dengan Nabi-Nya yang mulia i menjadi satu titik perpindahanku menuju jalan orang yang beriman.’
Termasuk di antara sebab yang juga dia sebutkan, yang menjadikannya menyatakan ketidaktaatannya kepada gereja adalah dituntutnya iman dengan syafaat antara Allah dan makhluk-Nya dengan beberapa perkara; seperti syafaat untuk bebas dari neraka, seperti butuhnya manusia kepada orang yang memberikan syafaat secara membabi buta. Dan bahwa pemberi syafaat itu adalah seorang Tuhan sempurna dan Manusia sempurna. Dan bahwa para biarawan gereja juga para pemberi syafaat mutlak. Sebagaimana Gereja memerintahnya untuk bertawassul (menjadikan perantara) kepada para pemberi syafaat itu yang tidak mungkin bisa membatasi mereka.
Dari studinya tentang doktrin salib, dia menemukan bahwa al-Qur`an mengingkarinya, sementara injil yang beredar menetapkan. Padahal asli keduanya adalah dari satu sumber. Seharusnya, yang wajar adalah tidak ada perbedaan di antara keduanya. Akan tetapi terjadi perselisihan dan pertentangan di antara keduanya. Maka harus menghukumi adanya distorsi pada salah satu dari keduanya. Dia pun meneruskan penelitian dan pengecekannya untuk masalah ini, hingga dia sampai pada satu hakikat, seraya berkata:
‘Hasil dari penelitianku bahwa aku percaya dan yakin bahwa kisah pembunuhan al-Masih u, penyaliban dan bangkitnya dia dari kematian adalah dongeng belaka.’
Dia juga berkata, ‘Bahwa keyakinan Kristen terhadap Trinitas, dan klaim mereka bahwa sifat itu mendahului yang disifati menjadi salah satu sebab yang mengajaknya untuk keluar dari Kristen.’
Dia pun bertemu dengan sejumlah ulama kaum muslimin. Setelah dia bertatap muka berulang kali bersama dengan mereka, dia pun yakin dengan Islam dan memeluknya.
Dia tinggalkan dunia selama sebulan penuh di dalam rumahnya. Dia ulangi lagi membaca al-Kitab dengan bahasa-bahasanya yang kuno, dan dengan nash-nash aslinya berulang kali. Dia mempelajarinya dengan mendalam dan dengan perbandingan. Yang kemudian dia kumpulkan sebagian dalam kitabnya, Muhammad In The Bibble, dan akhirnya dia memeluk Islam di Kota Instambul. Dan diantara karyanya adalah Bible and the Cross (Injil dan Salib).
Terakhir, Prof. Abdul Ahad Dawud berkata, ‘Waktu yang di dalamnya saya beriman dengan Keesaan Allah, dan Nabi-Nya yang mulia i, maka mulailah langkah perubahanku menuju jalan keimanan laa ilaaha illallaah (Tidak ada sesembahan yang haq kecuali Allah). Inilah keyakinan yang akan menaungi keyakinan setiap mukmin yang sebenarnya terhadap Allah hingga hari kiamat… Saya yakin bahwa satu-satunya cara untuk memahami makna al-Kitab dan rohnya adalah mempelajarinya dari sisi keislaman.’
Demikianlah, serial keislaman para ulama Nasrani akan terus berlangsung, dan tidak akan berhenti, sementara tidak ada satu orang ulama pun dari kaum muslimin yang masuk Nasrani sejak dibangkitkannya Nabi i hingga hari ini, yaitu sejak lebih dari 1400 tahun yang lalu.
Sesungguhnya saya berharap dari setiap orang yang jujur lagi pencari kebenaran dari orang-orang Nasrani untuk menghadapkan pertanyaan kepada para Imam Gereja tentang penyebab masuk Islamnya ulama Nasrani, sementara tidak pernah ditemukan seorang ulama dari kaum muslimin yang menyatakan kekristenannya sejak 1400 tahun yang lalu?
Betapa kami sangat rindu untuk mendengarkan jawaban atas pertanyaan sederhana ini…!!
