Pada hari Rabu, 14 Desember 2012, saya menghadiri sebuah seminar ilmiah yang diadakan oleh Klub Perhimpunan Mahasiswa Asing di Mesir, yang berada di bawah Kementerian Pendidikan Mesir. Tema acara tersebut adalah tentang “Hijrah Rasulullah SAW”. Pembicaranya adalah Dr. Thoha Abu Krisyah, mantan Wakil Rektor Universitas Al-Azhar Kairo.

Seperti biasa, seminar rutin bulanan ini dimulai selepas waktu Magrib. Acara yang dikhususkan untuk mahasiswa asing ini digelar di kantor sekretariat yang sangat sederhana dan tidak terlalu besar. Mungkin tidak banyak juga mahasiswa asing yang tahu tentang agenda-agenda Klub Perhimpunan Mahasiswa Asing ini, sehingga yang datang pun dapat dibilang sangat sedikit sekali. Kira-kira tidak sampai 50 orang. Padahal acara seperti ini sangat penting dan berharga sekali. Apalagi pembicaraan yang dihadirkan biasanya bukan orang sembarangan.

Tema yang diberikan oleh pengurus memang tentang “Hijrah Rasulullah SAW”. Akan tetapi Dr. Thoha Abu Krisyah juga banyak berbicara tentang revolusi Mesir, karena memang nuansa revolusi masih sangat kental sekali di tengah masyarakat Mesir. Revolusi Mesir masih berlangsung hingga tujuan revolusi tercapai. Kira-kira seperti itu.

Pasca runtuhnya rezim Husni Mubarak, isu tentang masa depan bentuk pemerintahan Mesir ini secara spontan langsung muncul. Banyak orang yang bertanya-tanya tentang pemegang kekuasaan selanjutnya setelah Mubarak. Apa yang dilakukan penguasa baru nanti terhadap negara Mesir. Akankah Mesir yang kini negara republik dirubah menjadi negara agama (Daulah Diniyah)?

Beberapa hari menjelang pemilu parlemen, stasiun televisi BBC Arabic telah mengangkat isu bahwa rakyat Mesir tengah dihadapkan dengan dua pilihan, apakah Mesir akan menjadi Daulah Diniyah atau Daulah Madaniyah? Isu ini diangkat dengan menayangkan wawancara dari beberapa orang rakyat sipil yang dimintai pendapat mereka tentang Daulah Diniyah dan Daulah Madaniyah.

Mengenai isu ini, saya tertarik dengan pernyataan Dr. Thoha Abu Krisyah yang mengatakan bahwa istilah “Daulah Diniyah” dan “Daulah Madaniyah” adalah istilah yang dikembangkan oleh musuh-musuh Islam untuk membingungkan dan memecahbelah umat.

Menurut Dr. Thoha, istilah tersebut tidak ada dalam sejarah pemikiran Islam. Istilah itu berasal dari Barat, dan dimaksudkan untuk membingungkan umat Islam.

“Yang ada hanyalah Daulah Islamiyah. Istilah daulah diniyah tidak ada dalam sejarah pemikiran Islam, bahkan sejak zaman Rasulullah,” tegas Dr. Thoha.

Perang pemikiran dan istilah ternyata memang masih belum usai. Istilah-istilah plesetan yang entah dari mana asalnya cepat sekali bermunculan. Apalagi jika istilah itu dikaitkan dengan suatu peristiwa.

Pengertian Daulah Islam dengan Daulah Diniyah memang jauh berbeda. Daulah Islam dibangun di atas dasar ajaran Islam yang cocok di setiap tempat, bagi setiap orang, dan di setiap waktu. Hal ini karena tujuan ajaran Islam itu ada tidak lain adalah untuk mewujudkan kemaslahatan umat manusia.

Sementara istilah Daulah Diniyah sebenarnya merujuk kepada negara-negara Barat di abad Kegelapan ketika berada di bawah kukungan gereja. Para pendeta bertindak semena-mena atas nama agama dan wakil tuhan. Kekuasaan tertinggi dalam negara akhirnya bukan pada agama atau tuhan itu sendiri, melainkan pada mereka yang mengaku diri sebagai orang yang paling berhak menginterpretasikan wahyu tuhan. Sementara yang lainnya tidak berhak. Lembaga magisterium adalah bukti keangkuhan agamawan Katolik saat itu.

Selanjutnya Dr. Thoha mengatakan bahwa revolusi dunia Arab yang sekarang tengah terjadi ini dapat dikatakan hijrahnya umat Islam, jika revolusi ini membawa kebaikan dan kemaslahatan umat. Beliau juga sepakat dengan analisa yang mengatakan bahwa revolusi di dunia Arab ini adalah awal dari kebangkitan Islam. “Pemikiran seperti ini adalah pemikiran yang baik,” tuturnya.

Mengenai masa depan Mesir apakah akan menjadi negara Islam, Dr. Thoha menjawab,”Saya tidak tahu. Tapi yang jelas Mesir bukanlah negara kafir.”

Seusai acara, saya menyempatkan diri untuk bertanya kepada beliau seraya ingin berjabat tangan. Saya menanyakan tentang isu yang selama ini digulingkan oleh kelompok sekuler di Mesir yang takut jika kekuatan Islam berkuasa di pemerintahan. Kubu sekuler ini melontarkan ketakutan-ketakutan yang cenderung didramatisir guna menghalangi kekuatan Islam dalam Pemilu. Misalnya isu seperti, jika kelompok Islamis berkuasa, maka pariwisata di Mesir akan berkurang, patung-patung simbol kekufuran Mesir Kuno diharamkan, dst.
