Di dalam Al Qur'an, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala beberapa kali menyebutkan nama-nama binatang dalam rangka menceritakan kisahnya ataupun dijadikan sebagai permisalan supaya menjadi pelajaran bagi umat manusia. Namun ternyata banyak dari kita tidak menyadari keunikan yang ada pada binatang-binatang yang menjadi tanda kekuasaan Allah tersebut. Berikut ini adalah hal-hal menakjubkan dari beberapa binatang yang disebutkan di dalam Al Qur'an. Selamat menikmati.
1. Unta
Binatang yang dijuluki kendaraan padang pasir ini disebutkan oleh Allah Azza wa Jalla di dalam Al Qur'an pada QS. Al Ghaasyiyah: 17.
''Maka apakah mereka tidak memperhatikan unta, bagaimana ia diciptakan?''
Allah Ta'ala mengajak kita agar berpikir betapa sempurnanya makhluk ciptaan-Nya ini. Padang pasir yang memiliki cuaca ekstrim yang tak banyak binatang sanggup bertahan hidup, ternyata tidak berlaku bagi unta. Dia dapat tinggal dan hidup nyaman di sana. Inilah bukti hebatnya rancangan Sang Pencipta alam ini.
Ketika badai pasir menerpa, Allah memberinya pelindung khusus baginya. Kelopak matanya yang transparan menjadikannya tetap bisa mengamati keadaan sekitar walaupun matanya tertutup. Hidungnya pun didesain memiliki penutup khusus agar debu dan pasir tidak mengganggu pernafasannya.
Teriknya panas matahari dan membekunya udara ketika malam hari tiba diantisipasi oleh rambutnya yang lebat dan tebal yang menutupi seluruh tubuhnya. Sehingga unta pun tetap nyaman dalam dua keadaan tersebut.
Kemampuannya meminum air hingga sepertiga tubuhnya dalam waktu relatif cepat dan persediaan lemak di punuknya hingga 40 kg, menjadikannya mampu bertahan hidup delapan hari dalam suhu 50 derajat celcius. Sungguh sebuah keajaiban bagi binatang di lingkungan yang hanya dihidupi tanaman keras lagi berduri ini. Allahu akbar!
2. Lalat
Banyak orang merasa jijik dengan serangga ini, mereka menganggapnya sebagai binatang kotor dan biang penyakit karena hidupnya di tempat sampah. Tapi Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala telah menyebutkannya di dalam Al Qur'an untuk mengejek orang-orang kafir.
"Dan jika lalat itu merampas sesuatu dari mereka, tidaklah mereka dapat merebutnya kembali dari lalat itu." (Al-Hajj: 73)
Sungguh maha benar akan firman-Nya ini. Kita begitu sulit menepuk lalat yang terbang karena kepandaiannya merubah arah secara cepat. Allah telah mengaruniainya keahlian bermanuver yang hebat yang tak diberikannya kepada makhluk-Nya yang lain.
Dalam setiap detik saat terbang, lalat mengepakkan sayapnya sekitar 500 kali. Jika ada mesin buatan manusia yang memiliki kecepatan luar biasa ini, mungkin akan segera rusak dan terbakar akibat gaya gesek yang ditimbulkannya. Artinya, tubuh lalat terbuat dari bahan khusus yang sangat prima, baik sayap maupun persendian otot, sehingga tidak mengalami keseleo atau patah saat terbang.
Kemampuan manuvernya masih kalah hebat dibandingkan lalat.
Teknologi terbang lalat memang sangat ajaib. Serangga ini dapat terbang ke arah mana saja tanpa takut terpengaruh oleh arah dan kecepatan angin. Dalam melakukan manuver, lalat bisa secara tiba-tiba mengubah arah ke segala penjuru tanpa mengurangi kecepatan. Sungguh, teknologi yang belum terjangkau oleh manusia.
3. Burung Gagak
Penelitian modern akhir-akhir ini baru menyadari jika burung gagak ternyata memiliki kecerdasan di atas rata-rata binatang lainnya yang sebelumnya dikenal cerdas seperti anjing, lumba-lumba, gajah, serta simpanse. Ajaibnya, Al Qur'an ternyata telah mengungkapkan fakta ini lebih dari 1400 tahun yang lalu melalui lisan nabi-Nya, Muhammad shallallahu 'alaihis wasallam.
Allah Azza wa Jalla menyebutkan kecerdasan burung ini dalam surat Al Maidah ayat 31, ketika Dia mengutusnya kepada putra Adam (Qabil) untuk mengajarinya bagaimana seharusnya memperlakukan jenazah saudaranya (Habil), yang mati karena dibunuhnya. Lalu gagak itu pun menggali tanah, seakan-akan menunjukkan cara mengubur mayat.
Kecerdasan burung ini telah menarik perhatian para ilmuwan untuk menelitinya lebih lanjut melalui serangkaian percobaan. Hasilnya, diketahui burung ini sangat kreatif menggunakan logikanya untuk memecahkan masalah.
Gagak mampu beradaptasi dengan cepat dari daerah yang berbeda, misalnya dari padang pasir ke pegunungan. Mereka belajar secara cepat bagaimana menemukan makanan di tempat baru tersebut. Ia akan menggunakan benda-benda di sekitarnya untuk meraih makanannya.
Terkadang untuk memperoleh makanan ia akan memanfaatkan binatang lain agar mencarikan makanan untuknya. Dan tak jarang gagak bekerja sama dengan sesama mereka untuk menjebak dan membunuh mangsanya. Sungguh, gagak ialah makhluk cerdas yang akan sulit dicari tandingannya.
4. Kuda
Kuda adalah binatang yang gesit, lincah dan tangguh untuk menjelajah berbagai medan di permukaan bumi ini. Maka pantaslah Allah Ta'ala mengabadikan namanya dalam sebuah surat yaitu surat Al 'Adiyaat (kuda perang). Bahkan di dalam surat ini Allah telah bersumpah atas namanya.
Hampir seluruh bangsa di dunia ini menjadikan kuda sebagai kendaraan perang mereka. Allah Ta'ala telah merancang tubuh kuda dengan kokoh dan berimbang untuk menopang ketika dia berlari cepat agar tidak mudah terjerembab. Sementara bentuk lekuk tubuhnya yang proporsional sangat nyaman untuk dikendarai, bahkan menurut penelitian dapat memberi efek bagus bagi kesehatan punggung penunggangnya.
Keistimewaan yang dimiliki kuda ini tidak dimiliki binatang lain. Seperti gajah misalnya, meskipun kuat namun kalah cepat dan gesit dibandingkan kuda.
Meskipun pada masa sekarang kuda tidak lagi dipergunakan untuk berperang, namun setiap negara tetap memiliki pasukan berkuda (kavaleri) yang digunakan untuk acara-acara tertentu.
Dalam sebuah hadits, Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam telah memerintahkan umatnya untuk belajar berkuda.
“Ajarilah anak-anak kalian berkuda, berenang dan memanah.” (Shahih, HR. Bukhari dan Muslim)
Meskipun menggentarkan musuh, tapi tidak bisa melompat seperti kuda.
5. Rayap
Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala menyebutkan serangga mungil ini pada surat An Naml di dalam kisah Nabi Sulaiman 'alaihissalam. Ketika itu Nabi Sulaiman yang sudah diwafatkan oleh Allah bersandar pada tongkat kayunya. Jin-jin yang bekerja pada Nabi Sulaiman mengiranya beliau masih hidup. Hingga suatu hari tiba-tiba tubuh Nabi Sulaiman terjatuh akibat tongkat kayu yang menjadi sandarannya tak kuat menahan karena lapuk dimakan rayap. Lalu tersadarlah para jin-jin itu bahwa selama ini sebenarnya Nabi Sulaiman sudah wafat.
Sungguh menakjubkan. Rayap, serangga mungil bertubuh lunak itu mampu menggerogoti batang kayu yang keras tanpa diketahui jin-jin yang bekerja di sekeliling Nabi Sulaiman. Allah telah mengarunianya rahang yang kuat untuk memakan kayu dan mencernanya di dalam perutnya yang didesain secara khusus.
Seperti ini juga keadaan kita. Tanpa pernah kita sadari, ternyata rayap telah memakan kayu-kayu bangunan rumah. Begitu tersadar kayu-kayu telah menjadi keropos dan lapuk tak bisa lagi dimanfaatkan.
Dari penelitian diketahui, rayap memakan serat kayu karena di dalam serat kayu mengandung selulosa yang merupakan sumber utama energi mereka. Tak hanya kayu, bahan-bahan lain yang kaya akan selulosa seperti kertas dan kain juga dimakannya.
Rayap sanggup menembus tembok yang tebal dan melubangi benda-benda keras seperti plastik untuk mencapai sasarannya. Uniknya, pekerjaan yang sulit ini dilakukan oleh rayap-rayap pekerja yang ternyata buta. Subhanallah...
6. Burung Hudhud
Kita mengenal burung hudhud dari kisah Nabi Sulaiman 'alaihissalam bersama Ratu Saba'. Kisah ini Allah abadikan dalam Al Qur'an pada surat An Naml. Menurut literatur, burung hudhud adalah sejenis burung pelatuk namun ukurannya sedikit lebih besar. Dia memiliki jambul khas seperti kipas di kepalanya.
Burung hudhud memiliki kemampuan fisik dan daya ingat jelajah yang mumpuni. Hal ini dibuktikan ketika Nabi Sulaiman menyuruhnya mengantarkan surat kepada Ratu Saba' di daerah yang baru dikenal sebelumnya. Meskipun jauh ia ternyata berhasil mengantarkan surat tersebut dan kembali kepada Nabi Sulaiman dengan selamat tanpa tersesat.
Sungguh menakjubkan, kepada burung kecil ini Allah berikan kemampuan fisik luar biasa untuk melanglang angkasa bermil-mil jauhnya. Allah lengkapi pula baginya sistem navigasi canggih agar tidak tersesat dan bisa kembali dengan selamat. Subhanallah...
7. Laba-Laba
Di dalam surat Al 'Ankabut ayat 41, Allah 'Azza wa Jalla mengumpamakan orang-orang yang meminta perlindungan kepada selain Allah seperti laba-laba dengan sarangnya. Laba-laba mengira rumahnya itu kokoh dan bisa melindunginya, namun sejatinya ia rapuh dan mudah rusak. Demikianlah orang-orang kafir, mereka mengira sembahan-sembahan mereka bisa melindungi dan bermanfaat bagi mereka, namun ternyata semua itu sia-sia tiada guna bahkan kejelekkanlah yang justru menimpa mereka.
Demikianlah Allah mempermisalkan sebuah kaum supaya kita mudah memahami ayat-ayat-Nya.
Walaupun laba-laba memiliki rumah yang rapuh dan mudah rusak, namun Allah Ta'ala telah memuliakan binatang kecil ini untuk menolong hamba-Nya yang mulia, Muhammad shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam dari kejaran musuh-musuhnya.
Dikisahkan, laba-laba itu membuat sarang di pintu gua yang dijadikan tempat persembunyian oleh Rasulullah. Siapapun tak menyangka jika di gua itu ada orang yang bersembunyi dikarenakan sarang laba-laba itu masih utuh dan tak terkoyak. Akhirnya selamatlah beliau dari kejaran orang-orang kafir yang hendak mencelakainya.
Sebuah fakta mengejutkan diungkap oleh ilmu modern. Benang laba-laba yang tampak rapuh itu ternyata lebih kuat dari baja sekalipun. Ilmuwan modern membandingkan, dengan ukuran yang sama maka didapatkan jika benang laba-laba lima kali lebih kuat dan lebih elastis dibandingkan serat baja. Keunggulan lainnya adalah dia lebih ringan daripada kapas, sehingga untuk melingkari bumi hanya diperlukan benang laba-laba seberat 320 g saja. Subhanallah...
Jika laba-laba seukuran manusia, maka jaringnya mampu menghentikan pesawat jumbo jet.
8. Lebah
Serangga penghasil madu ini sering dijadikan permisalan sebagai orang shalih. Dimana ia mengambil yang baik-baik dan mengeluarkan yang baik-baik pula. Dalam Al Qur'an nama lebah dijadikan sebuah nama surat, yakni surat An Nahl. Dalam surat ini, Allah mewahyukan kepada lebah untuk membuat sarang-sarang di perbukitan, pepohonan, dan bangunan-bangunan yang dibuat manusia.
Menakjubkannya, kita dapati ternyata mereka adalah binatang yang taat. Mereka enggan menyelisihi perintah Rabb mereka. Maka kita bisa menyaksikan mereka lebih banyak membangun sarang-sarang di bukit-bukit sebagai tempat pertama yang diperintahkan, kemudian di pepohonan, baru setelah itu di rumah-rumah manusia.
Sarang yang mereka buat berbentuk segi enam. Ini adalah bentuk yang paling sempurna, paling simetris, dan paling kokoh. Jika dipadukan satu sama lainnya niscaya tidak akan ditemukan celah ataupun lubang. Semua itu dibuat tanpa alat ukur atau jangka. Allah-lah yang memberinya ilham untuk membangun sarang sedemikian sempurnanya.
Koloni lebah memiliki cara pertahanan diri yang unik. Ketika seekor tawon datang ke sarang lebah madu, mereka berkumpul di mulut sarang untuk mempertahankan diri. Ketika seekor tawon bergerak mendekat, sekitar 500 lebah madu akan mengepungnya dengan segera. Kemudian, mereka menggetarkan tubuh dan meningkatkan suhu tubuh, sehingga tercipta suhu udara mencapai 48 derajat celcius. Jika tidak menghindar, tawon akan seperti terperangkap di dalam oven, hingga akhirnya mati. Masya Allah...
9. Semut
Kisah Nabi Sulaiman 'alaihissalam bertemu sekelompok semut dikabarkan dalam Al Qur'an pada surat An Naml. Ketika itu Nabi Sulaiman dan pasukannya melewati sebuah lembah. Ternyata di lembah itu hidup satu koloni semut. Khawatir terinjak oleh pasukan tersebut, maka pemimpin semut berseru memperingatkan semut-semut lainnya untuk menyelamatkan diri masuk ke sarang mereka. Nabi Sulaiman pun tersenyum takjub menyaksikan kecerdasan bangsa semut itu.
Bangsa semut hidup dalam sistem kerajaan. Mereka memiliki ratu, prajurit dan para pekerja. Mereka hidup bekerja sama sesuai tugas masing-masing. Mereka memiliki aturan-aturan yang harus ditaati bersama demi keberlangsungan kehidupan mereka sepanjang zaman.
Semut tinggal di suatu markas besar yang mereka bangun dari tanah liat. Sepintas, kita melihatnya seperti gundukan tanah biasa. Namun jika diteliti kita akan temukan susunan rumit yang dibuat secara matang dengan ruang-ruang berbagai fungsi di dalamnya.
Ruangan-ruangan itu ada yang berfungsi sebagai tempat menyimpan makanan, menyimpan larva, ruang makan serta tempat bertelur ratu semut, dan beberapa ruangan dengan fungsi lainnya. Markas itu juga dilengkapi lubang-lubang ventilasi yang memadai sehingga udara segar dari luar bisa terserap dengan baik. Sungguh sebuah rancangan yang amat sempurna dari Sang Ilahi.

Semut merupakan satu-satunya binatang selain manusia yang dapat berperang dengan kelompok yang terorganisasi secara kompleks, melawan kelompok lain yang juga terorganisir. Mereka berperang untuk mendapatkan teritori atau sumber makanan dari koloni semut lainnya. Terkadang, peperangan ini berakhir pada kekalahan total satu pihak, sehingga semut yang masih hidup akan dijadikan budak untuk bekerja di koloni yang menang. Subhanallah, menakjubkan bukan?!
10. Anjing
Dalam surat Al A'raaf ayat 176, Allah 'Azza wa Jalla menyamakan orang-orang yang mendustakan ayat-ayat-Nya seperti anjing yang suka menjulurkan lidahnya baik ketika dihalau maupun dibiarkan. Demikianlah mereka yang kafir kepada ayat-ayat Allah, dinasehati ataupun tidak, mereka tetap sama keadaannya, membangkang. Na'udzubillahi min dzalik.
Anjing dikenal sebagai hewan cerdas, daya penciumannya hebat, dan bisa diandalkan manusia untuk membantu pekerjaan mereka, semisal berburu dan menjaga ternak. Namun sebagai muslim kita dilarang memelihara anjing, salah satu sebab karena air liurnya mengandung najis.
Ilmu modern telah mengungkapkan korelasi perilaku anjing ini dengan kenajisan yang diterangkan syariat.
Menjulurkan lidah adalah hal alamiah bagi anjing untuk mengatur suhu tubuh mereka, karena anjing tidak memiliki kalenjar keringat kecuali sedikit sekali yang berada di telapak kaki. Kalenjar keringat bagi makhluk hidup berfungsi untuk mengatur, menurunkan, dan menjaga kestabilan suhu tubuh.
Maka untuk membantu menjaga temperatur suhu tubuhnya, anjing akan selalu menjulurkan lidahnya. Karena saat itulah lidah dan rongga mulut dapat melakukan kontak langsung dengan udara, sehingga air menguap dari rongga mulut dan parinx (tenggorokan)-nya. Maka dari lidahnya tersebut akan keluar air liur.
Air liur anjing adalah tempat keluarnya keringat sehingga semua bakteri mengumpul di lidahnya. Air liur anjing dari jenis apapun berbahaya bagi manusia, karena mengandung berbagai jenis bakteri patogen (biang penyakit). Inilah alasan kenapa syariat menyebutkan air liur anjing adalah najis. Lalu kenapa harus dibasuh tujuh kali dan salah satunya harus dengan tanah?
Para ilmuwan telah mengungkapkan fakta yang menakjubkan, yaitu adanya zat desinfektan pada tanah. Ketika para ilmuwan mempelajari susunan kandungan tanah, mereka menemukan bahwa pada tanah mengandung dua materi yang dapat membunuh kuman-kuman, yakni tetracycline dan tetarolite. Dua unsur ini digunakan untuk proses pembasmian (sterilisasi) beberapa kuman. Bahan (zat) ini jika dicampur dengan bakteri dan kuman, akan segera membunuh bakteri dan kuman tersebut. Dua materi ini hingga sekarang belum bisa tergantikan oleh sabun modern.
Demikianlah beberapa hal menakjubkan dari sebagian binatang yang disebutkan di Al Qur'an. Allah Ta'ala hendak mengajak kita mentadabburinya karena tidak ada satu pun makhluk yang Dia ciptakan yang sia-sia. Semoga bermanfaat.
