Kenaikan harga rokok hingga dua kali lipat tengah dikaji oleh Pemerintah. Anggota DPR Komisi IX, Okky Asokawati sepakat akan kenaikan harga yang diprediksi mencapai Rp50 ribu itu dengan tujuan melahirkan sumber daya manusia (SDM) yang sehat dan cerdas.

Hal itu dilontarkan Okky setelah melihat hasil Riset Kesehatan Dasar (Riskesdas) di mana 40% keluarga termiskin, rela membelanjakan keuangan keluarganya untuk membeli satu atau dua bungkus rokok perharinya. Akibat hal itu, 37% ibu di Indonesia melahirkan balita yang cebol atau kerdil.

Dilansir dari Okezone.com bahwa 40% keluarga miskin membelanjakan anggaran keluarga lebih besar untuk merokok ketimbang memenuhi gizi untuk anak mereka.

Demi menghasilkan dan melahirkan SDM yang cerdas dan sehat maka Anggota DPR Komisi IX sepakat menaikkan harga rokok.

Terlebih, SDM menjadi fondasi yang kuat untuk membangun sebuah bangsa, termasuk Indonesia.

Asap rokok memang sangat mengganggu pernapasan kita, baik dalam kondisi normal apalagi yang tengah hamil. Secara naluriah, ketika ada orang mendekat dengan membawa rokok tangan langsung menutup hidung atau mengibaskan tangan di sekitar hidung. Baunya juga aneh, tidak enak dan menyesakkan. Tapi mengapa hampir semua laki laki menyukai aktivitas rokok merokok? Padahal mereka tahu efek buruk dari rokok tersebut? Katanya enak dan lezat.

Bahaya Aktivitas Merokok

Aktivitas merokok bukan hanya mengenai bagi perokok sendiri, juga orang orang yang ada di sekitarnya. Perokok aktif dan pasif sama-sama terkena efek buruk. 1. Resiko kerusakan genetik

Menurut penelitian yang di lakukan oleh Association for Cancer Research, Washington DC mengemukakan bahwa ada peningkatan resiko kerusakan genetis bagi perokok pasif. Hal ini tentu saja mengkhawatirkan keadaan bayi yang di kandungan ibu hamil. Kerusakan ini bisa mengacu pada mutasi sel kromosom atau DNA yang terjadi tidak normal. Kondisi ini mengganggu perkembangan janin saat dalam kandungan.

2. Resiko penyakit kanker

Selain itu, bagi perokok pasif akan lebih rentan terkena leukemia atau penyakit kanker lain. Sebab asap rokok mengandung bahan bahan berbahaya seperti nikotin yang di bakar ketika masuk ke dalam tubuh akan mengaktifkan sel kanker yang ada di dalam tubuh. 8. Resiko terkena penyakit telinga

Bukan hanya terkena resiko penyakit pernapasan, resiko penyakit telinga juga besar.
