Letakkan di tempat yang agak teduh dan tidak ditimpa hujan. Dalam 5 hingga 6 minggu, benih akan tumbuh. Pilih anak-anak benih yang paling besar dan cergas pertumbuhannya. Tanam di atas tanah atau dalam pasu dan jaga dengan baik.

Tidak sesuai jika menggunakan pasu atau polibeg kecil kerana akar pokok akan penuh dalam masa yang singkat dan pertumbuhan akan terbantut selepas satu tahun jika ia tidak mempunyai ruang yang cukup. Pada lantai pasu atau polibeg masukkan batu-batu kecil bagi memastikan tanah tidak terkeluar bersama air siraman. Pokok tin tidak sesuai berada di dalam keadaan air bertakung. Keadaan itu akan mengakibatkan akarnya akan terganggu dan pertumbuhan pokok terbantut.
Penyediaan tanah
Untuk mendapatkan saliran yang baik buat campuran media seperti berikut:
• 5 bahagian pasir kasar
• 4 bahagian tanah merah
• 1/2 bahagian kompos
• sedikit kapur pertanian
• sedikit baja npk 15:15:15 (beli di nurseri)
Gaul campuran di atas bagi sebati dan isikan sebahagian pasu sahaja. Pastikan tanah di dalam polibeg berada bawah sedikit daripada bibir pasu. Sekiranya campuran tanah tidak cukup, tambahkan sedikit tanah bertujuan untuk memastikan pokok ditanam pada paras 3 cm dari bibir pasu.
Menanam Keratan Pokok
Tanamkan anak pokok di dalam pasu pada paras 3 cm dari bibir pasu. Isikan campuran tanah di sekeliling polibeg sehingga mencapai separuh ketinggian polibeg. Ingat anda perlu berhati-hati semasa meletakkan tanah agar akar pokok tin tidak terjejas. Anak pokok yang siap ditanam di dalam pasu boleh disiram sehingga tanah mulai basah. Jika air turun dengan baik, bermakna campuran tanah tadi adalah baik untuk pokok tin. Ini Siram sehari sekali tanpa membasahkan daunnya. Tempatkan pasu di tempat yang mendapat banyak cahaya matahari dan elakkan daripada hujan yang berterusan.
Pembajaan
Gunakan baja cecair untuk mengelakkan akar anak pokok rosak dan mati serta daun terbakar kerana kepanasan jika menggunakan baja biji. Jika anda memilih untuk menggunakan baja biji, pastikan ia diberi pada kadar yang betul . Pembajaan yang sesuai adalah seminggu sekali. Pada peringkat ini pokok sudah matang dan sedia berbunga dan menghasilkan buah. Baja yang disyorkan adalah yang mengandungi kandungan K yang tinggi. Selamat mencuba!
