GALAKAN IKTIKAF 10 TERAKHIR
Iktikaf pada 10 terakhir Ramadhan amat digalakkan syarak. Dalilnya:
1-Daripada Ibnu Umar r.a. katanya:
كان رسول الله يعتكف العشر الأواخر من رمضان
Maksudnya “Bahawa Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam beriktikaf pada sepuluh terakhir Ramadhan” HR Bukhari dan Muslim
2-Daripada Aisyah r.a. katanya:
أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يعتكف العشر الأواخر من رمضان حتى توفاه الله ثم اعتكف أزواجه من بعده
Maksudnya “Bahawa Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam beriktikaf pada sepuluh terakhir Ramadhan sehingga Allah mewafatkan baginda. Kemudian, isteri-isterinya terus beriktikaf selepasnya” HR Bukhari dan Muslim.
HUKUM IKTIKAF
Beberapa ulama menaqalkan ijmak bahawa hukumnya adalah sunat, tidak wajib. Ia hanya menjadi wajib sekiranya dinazarkan.
Ibnu Batthal menyebut: “Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam melazimi iktikaf menunjukkan ia adalah sunat muakkadah (sangat dituntut)”
Kata Ibnu Shihab “Alangkah peliknya orang-orang muslimin yang meninggalkan iktikaf, sedangkan Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam tidak pernah sekalipun meninggalkannya semenjak baginda masuk ke Madinah.”

2)Bagaimana sekiranya kita terpaksa balik/keluar dari tempat kita beri'tikaf cthnya balik ke rumah atau sebagainya?
Maksud iktikaf itu sendiri ialah: menahan, menetap, dan melazimi sesuatu. Jadi, perbuatan keluar daripada masjid, walaupun dengan hajat menafikan erti dan tujuan iktikaf itu. Kerana itu, ketika iktikaf, dibenarkan keluar jika ada hajat yg sangat mendesak. sebagaimana disebut dalam hadis:
kata Aisyah: "Sunnah ke atas org yg iktikaf ialah: tidak melawat org sakit, tidak mengiringi jenazah, tidak menyentuh wanita, tidak mubasyarah dengan wanita, TIDAK KELUAR UNTUK HAJAT kecuali dalam perkara yg tidak boleh dielakkan, Dan tidak ada iktikaf melainkan dengan puasa, dan tidak ada iktikaf melainkan di masjid jamik". Riwayat ABu Daud. Kata Ibn Hajar: "La Baksa Bi RIjalihi" (Tidak mengapa dengan perawi2nya). Cuma yang rajihnya ialah ayat terakhir hadis itu adalah mauquf.
