Sore itu seorang pria keturunan Tionghoa tengah berjalan di depan masjid.

Jam menunjukkan sekitar pukul 15.00 lewat.

Saat itu bersamaan dengan masuknya waktu salat Ashar.

Seperti biasa, muazin masjid mengumandangkan azan.

Diketahui azan merupakan tanda atau panggilan bagi umat muslim untuk menunaikan salat.

Suara azan itu didengar oleh pria tersebut.

Sebagai orang yang bukan memeluk agama Islam, pria itu tak mempedulikannya.

Tetapi entah kenapa hari itu seperti ada yang lain.

Jantungnya seketika berdetak.

Hatinya seperti ada perasaan kagum yang menghinggapi.

Ia lantas mendengarkan azan tersebut dengan seksama.

Semakin didengan suara azan tersebut semakin menyejukkan hatinya.

Itu adalah pengalaman pertama baginya.

Selama ini ia biasa saja mendengarnya.

Seperti ada yang aneh hari itu.

Ia segera mengeluarkan ponselnya dan menelpon sahabatnya.

Apa yang dikatakan pada sahabatnya sungguh mengejutkan.

Hari itu juga ia memutuskan untuk menjadi seorang mualaf.

"Begitulah awalnya saya memutuskan untuk memeluk Islam," ujar Ananto (29) warga Kelurahan 20 Ilir Kecamatan Kemuning, Rabu (23/8/2017).

Terlahir sebagai non muslim, anak ke-2 dari 6 bersaudara tersebut harus mengambil keputusan penting sepanjang hidupnya.

Ia sama sekali tidak pernah mengenal agama lain selain agama kepercayaannya sendiri.

Di tahun 2016 lalu, ketika ia sedang berjalan melintasi masjid yang tak jauh dari tempat tinggalnya.

Ananto langsung berdetak hatinya mendengar suara azan salat ashar.

Ia seperti merasakan indahnya kumandang suara azan.

"Sudah sering saya mendengar suara azan, tapi kali ini suara azan yang saya dengar sangatlah merdu, saya merasakan ketenangan di dalam hati saat menghayati suaranya", jelasnya.

Setelah itu ia menelpon sahabatnya yang beragama Islam.

"Saya bilang dengan teman kalau saya ingin masuk Islam", terangnya.

Mendengar ucapannya, sontak temannya terkejut karena sebelumnya Ananto tidak pernah bercerita tentang Agama.

Ia bercerita, selalu dihantui rasa kegelisahan, bahkan ia sering bicara sendiri karena kebingungan menetapkan pilihan hatinya.

Memasuki tahun 2017 awal, tepatnya pada tanggal 18 Januari ia memberanikan diri untuk mengatakan kepada orangtuanya kalau dirinya ingin masuk Agama Islam.

"Saya takut, tetapi jelas Islam adalah Agama keputusan terakhir dan akhirnya saya memberanikan diri untuk bilang kepada orangtua serta keluarga besar saya", ungkapnya.

Keesokan harinya di tanggal 19 Januari 2017, ia akhirnya mengucapkan dua kalimat syahadat di dalam Masjid Cheng Ho Jakabaring.

"Alhamdulilah saat selesai mengucapkan dua kalimat syahadat hati saya merasa tenang serta bahagia, hati dan perasaan terasa sangat bahagia ketika saya telah resmi menjadi pemeluk Agama Islam", ceritanya.

Pria yang menggeluti bisnis Interior Furniture tersebut juga mengganti namanya menjadi Yusuf.

Nama tersebut adalah pemberian ustaz yang bernama Haji Didi.

"Ustaz Didi memberikan nama baru kepada saya, syukur alhamdulilah rasanya kehidupan baru berada dikehidupan saya", terangnya.

Sekarang Yusuf hampir satu tahun mempelajari ajaran Islam.

Mulai dari cara untuk salat, puasa serta perbuatan yang dilarang ajaran Islam.

"Dulu saya fikir puasa itu sangatlah berat tetapi saat saya menjalaninya dengan ikhlas puasa seperti ringan untuk dijalankan", tuturnya.

Kedua orangtuanya tidak mempersalahkan keputusan yang ia ambil.

Keluarga besarnya pun memberikan keputusan sepenuhnya kepadanya.

"Ya orangtua beserta keluarga menghargai keputusan yang telah saya ambil, mereka juga menganggap kallau saya telah bisa memilih jalan kehidupan sendiri", jelasnya.

Selama menjadi seorang mualaf ia berusaha untuk mendalami Agama Islam dengan cara salat dan berdoa kepada Allah SWT.

"Setelah memeluk Islam, saya merasa bisa mengontrol emosi, apalagi setelah saya habis salat", terangnya.

Sambil tersenyum ia mengatakan kalau hatinya sudah sangatlah mantap dengan ajaran Agama Islam.

"Insyallah ini agama yang terbaik untuk saya, sampai tutup usia Islam adalah Agamaku dan Allah SWT tuhan ku", tutupnya dengan lantang.
