Terlelap lepas Isyak. Lalu terbangun pukul 2.30. Cari suami tengok kiri kanan, tak ada. Dengar bunyi di dapur.

"Mungkin suami aku sedang masak", ujarku.

Teringat masa sebelum nikah, saya beritahu suami,
"Abang, saya ini tak rajin masak, tak rajin mencuci baju , lipat baju, mengemas rumah dan sebagainya,"

"Bangun tidur pun sering saat sudah siang hari," jujur saya beritahu dia.
Dia senyum.

"Abang nikah dengan kamu untuk dijadikan isteri, bukan cari orang buat digaji," katanya.
Seketika tersentak saya. Saya tertunduk diam, senyum.

Apa yang saya alami mungkin sedikit 'istimewa'.

Menikahi seorang duda yang bertato yang tidak arif soal agama, dan punya seorang anak perempuan hasil pernikahannya dengan mantan isterinya.

Dia pernah menikah dan pernah gagal.
Saya lihat sendiri bagaimana dia berusaha bersungguh-sungguh memperbaiki hubungan terdahulu, dan bagaimana dia menjadikan kesalahannya dulu sebagai pelajaran dalam hubungan kami.

Seperti hari-hari biasa, manusia memandang kami dengan pandangan yang kejam.
Saya tidak pernah marah pada tato dia, walaupun di awal perkenalan kami dahulu saya kurang senang dengan tatonya.

Astaghfirullah, itulah kelemahan saya dahulu.
Juga seperti masyarakat lain yang memandang dia dengan pandangan yang buruk.

Pandangan masyarakat juga pada kami seolah-olah kami tidak layak bersama.
Dia punya tato sedangkan saya berjilbab dan berniqab.

Ini masalah yang sudah biasa yang kami lalui sepanjang kehidupan kami sebagai suami isteri.
Bayangkan, kami pernah bertemu dengan sekumpulan wanita yang berjubah dan berniqab, mereka akan mencubit lengan sesama mereka.

Memandang kami sambil melirik dan berbisik-bisik, lalu pergi dengan langkah yang laju.
Begitu juga ketika kami bertemu dengan golongan pria-pria berhaji atau pria berjubah, bersongkok atau berkopiah.

Ada yang menggeleng-geleng kepala, ada yang sampai melotot.
Ada yang tak melepas pandangannya.

Mereka melototi saya yang berjubah berniqab ini, lalu melihati suami yang bertato.
Bayangkan juga, bagaimana andai institusi agama Islam sendiri memandang kami dengan pandangan yang 'pahit untuk ditelan'.

Sedangkan Islam itu agama yang baik dan sempurna.
Saya rasa andai kalian di tempat kami, tak banyak yang punya hati yang kuat.

Banyak masalah yang bisa buat kita makan hati dengan masyarakat, namun hati kami tetap kuat.
Bila ditanya kenapa suami masih bersinglet?

Saya jawab, dia masih di jalan hijrah.
Andai kalian paham, jalan hijrah seseorang bukan makan masa yang singkat.

Saya sendiri pun walaupun berjubah dan berniqab, masih lalai dengan agama.
Jalan hijrah tidak perlu drastis.

Saya banyak mengambil contoh diri saya sendiri dalam landasan perjalanan menuju jalan Allah SWT.
Ada orang yang oleh Allah diberi perjalanan hijrahnya cepat, ada orang yang perjalanan hijrahnya makan waktu.

Setiap orang rezeki taufik hidayahnya tidak sama.
Manusia memang akan cepat menilai dan melihat keburukan, kelemahan dan keaiban manusia lain.

Bagi saya, untuk permulaan perjalanan hijrah yang makan waktu ini, suami sudah tanggalkan anting-anting yang dipakainya, dan saya sangat bersyukur.

Orang lain takkan faham apa yang dirasa oleh saya.

Saya terima suami seadanya walaupun saya tahu jalan penghijrahan itu makan waktu yang amat panjang.

Saya ingat lagi, saya pernah ajukan satu pertanyaan kepada suami, karena saya ingat mantan isterinya seorang yang tidak berjilbab.

"Abang suka saya pakai jilbab?" tanya saya saat itu.

"Ehh sukalah", jawabnya. Saya ketawa.

"Abang suka saya pakai niqab?" Saya tanya lagi.

"Suka sekali, sayang. Pakailah. Biar abang seorang saja yang melihat kamu. Tak bisa orang lain melihat!", jawabnya.

Demi Allah saya sangat happy dengar jawaban itu.

Jawaban dari suami sendiri.

Sebab saya sedar, banyak kawan-kawan saya yang dahulunya berniqab, namun selepas bergelar isteri, niqab tiada lagi menutupi wajah mereka.

Tak apalah. Tak kisah masalah itu.

Wajah bukan hanya aurat bagi saya.

Bila dianugerahi Allah SWT seorang suami yang masyarakat pandang jahat dengan tato yang penuh di tangan, dada, jari, belakang dan kaki, tak akan ada yang menyangka, walaupun lelaki ini tidak pandai tentang seluk beluk agama, namun dia seorang yang sangat tegas menjaga salat dan aurat isterinya.

Ya Allah, belum lagi masuk kisah salat, bagaimana suami yang bertato ini kalau sudah masuk waktu salat.

Jika dilihatnya isterinya masih sibuk dengan smartphone ditangan, cukup suami saya berdehem, lalu cepat-cepat saya berlari mengambil wudhu.

Begitu juga di kala orang lain memilih pakaian untuk Hari Raya, suami pula lebih gemar saya memakai jilbab dan berniqab.

"Baju kurung pun tak boleh? Tutup aurat juga," tanya saya.
