Selama setahun, ia berusaha untuk belajar berjalan kembali dengan menggunakan kaki palsu.
"Pakai kaki palsu memang membantu menyeimbangkan tinggiku dengan orang lain, tapi belajar menggunakannya luar biasa sulit" ujar Edgard pada Body Building.
"Sebab kau harus pintar menyeimbangkan diri dan membawa beban tubuhmu, aku perlu waktu yang tak sebentar untuk memakai benda itu," kenang Edgard.
Bersama teman-temannya, ia membuat sebuah akun di Facebook bernama 'Bionic Body' untuk memposting segala kegiaatannya sehari-hari.
Lewat postingan itu, Edgard ingin berkata bahwa tak perlu minder jika kalian terlihat tak sempurna.
Alhasil, kini nama Edgard Augustus dikenal sebagai binaragawan yang mumpuni.

Hasilnya, 41,7 persen responden wanita memilih pria dengan bentuk tubuh standar, yaitu tidak gemuk dan tidak kurus.
Kemudian, sebanyak 35,8 persen responden wanita mengaku bahwa mereka lebih suka dengan pria berotot.
