Ular memang dikenal merupakan hewan berbahaya bagi manusia, apalagi ular kobra.

Dikatakan oleh Panji Petualang, satu gigitan ular kobra bisa membunuh gajah berukuran besar dalam waktu satu jam.

Namun ternyata banyak juga yang tertarik pada hewan mengerikan yang satu ini.

Alih-alih sudah jinak karena dirawat sejak kecil, mereka pun cuek memeliharanya di rumah.

Padahal, sejatinya hewan seperti ular kobra itu akan lebih baik tinggal di habitatnya sendiri.

Karena sejinaknya ular, ia bisa kapan saja melukai majikannya.

Hal itu jugalah yang dialami seorang siswa SMA berikut ini.

Dilihat dari akun Facebook Nindi Sari, pria itu kerap berpose dengan ular kobra yang ukurannya sudah besar.

Ia pun tak segan berpose dengan ular itu mencium bagian kepalanya.

Namun sayang, pria yang disebut-sebut merupakan siswa SMA asal Bojongsoang, Jawa Barat itu harus tewas dalam gigitan hewan kesayangannya itu.

Pada foto-foto yang diposting oleh Nindi, tampak pria bernama Syahril itu tengah asyik bercengkrama dengan ularnya.

Ada juga foto yang ia bagikan di WhatsApp yang menunjukkan lengannya yang berdarah.

"Antara hidup dan mati," tulisnya.

Setelah itu, terlihat pula foto dirinya sedang mendapat penanganan di rumah sakit akibat gigitan ular tersebut.

Namun sayang sepertinya nyawa pria itu tak bisa tertolong.

Duel Dengan Piton

Seorang warga bernama Robert Nababan berduel dengan seekor ular piton besar yang mencoba memangsanya.

Kejadian tersebut menyebabkan Robert mengalami luka parah di bagian tangan dan harus menjalani operasi.

Ular yang berduel dengan korban berhasil ditangkap warga.

Saat diukur panjang ular tersebut mencapai 7 meter !.

Kejadian yang menimpa Robert terjadi di Desa Sungai Akar, Kecamatan Batang Gangsal, Kab Indragiri Hulu, Riau.

Hingga saat ini, Robert masih menjalani perawatan di RSUD Indah Sari, Pematang Rebah, Riau.

Kejadian ular yang mencoba memangsa korban diceritakan Risdawaty Nababan, adik korban di akun facebooknya.

Risdawaty menjelaskan, peristiwa yang menyebabkan kakaknya mengalami luka parah terjadi sekitar pukul 18.00, Sabtu (30/9/2017).

Saat itu korban hendak pulang ke rumahnya sesusai bertugas menjadi satpam di perkebunan sawit.

Saat mengendarai motor itulah, Robert melihat ada dua orang yang sedang berhenti di tengah jalan karena melihat seekor ular piton yang begitu besar.

Khawatir menganggu keselamatan pengendara lainnya, Robert bergegas turun dari motornya.

Kemudian Robert berusaha menangkap ular berukuran besar itu.

Namun, saat tubuh ular dipegang, tiba-tiba ular itu melakukan perlawanan.

Pergumulan antara korban dan ular itupun tidak terhindarkan lagi.

Dalam kondisi sebagian tubuh dililit, ular mengigit tangan korban.

Warga lain yang melihat kejadian itu berusaha melepaskan gigitan sekaligus menangkap ular tersebut.

Warga Dimakan Piton

Akbar (25), warga Dusun Pangerang, Desa Salubiro, Kecamatan Karossa, Kabupaten Mamuju Tengah, Sulawesi Barat, tewas dimakan piton saat sedang akan memanen sawit pada Minggu (26/3/2017).

Kasus itu memberi gambaran bahwa manusia memang mungkin menjadi mangsa ular.

Namun, seberapa besar sebenarnya peluangnya?

Peneliti herpetologi dari Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) Mirza D Kusrini, mengungkapkan, peluang manusia dimakan piton sebenarnya kecil.

"Piton biasanya memangsa hewan seperti babi hutan dan rusa. Tapi, dalam kondisi tertentu, piton memang bisa memangsa manusia. Ada kasusnya tapi tidak banyak," katanya.

Kepada Kompas.com, Rabu (29/3/2017), Mirza mengatakan bahwa piton sebenarnya merupakan hewan yang oportunis, akan memangsa apapun yang mungkin.

Dalam kasus Akbar, Mirza menduga, piton tidak berhasil mendapatkan makanan setelah mencari sehingga akhirnya memangsa manusia.

Piton bisa kekurangan mangsa karena hidup di lingkungan kebun sawit di mana keragaman mangsa kurang melimpah.

Mangsa piton di kebun sawit kerap diusir karena dianggap hama.

Piton sendiri bisa jadi datang ke kebun sawit karena habitat aslinya sudah berkurang dan menjelma menjadi kebun sawit itu sendiri.

Kekurangan mangsa merupakan sebab umum piton memangsa manusia. Tahun 2013, dua orang bocah di Amerika Serikat dimakan oleh piton yang kelaparan.

Piton yang jadi hewan piaraan itu lapar karena baru saja lepas dari kandangnya.

Dia lantas masuk ke apartemen dan akhirnya menemukan dua bocah yang sedang tertidur.

Secara anatomi, ukurannya yang besar membuat piton bisa memakan apa pun.

Mirza mengungkapkan, piton bahkan bisa memakan aligator, sapi, dan hewan lain yang ukurannya lebih besar dari manusia.

"Seperti ular lainnya, piton itu tidak memiliki rahang. Jadi dia bisa membuka mulutnya selebar apapun dan mengkontraksikan ototnya untuk mendorong mangsa masuk ke saluran pencernaannya," kata Mirza.

Sekali mendapatkan mangsa, piton bisa diam hingga sebulan lamanya. Sebabnya, piton membutuhkan waktu yang lama untuk mencerna.

"Maka wajar jika di Sulawesi korban ditemukan masih dalam keadaan utuh. Dalam jangka waktu 2-3 hari, mangsa biasanya masih utuh di dalam perut ular," jelas Mirza.

Untuk menghindari piton, Mirza menyarankan untuk selalu waspada jika ke lapangan, baik ke sawah, kebun, apalagi hutan.

"Jangan pernah pergi sendiri saat di hutan. Pastikan selalu berada dalam rombongan jadi ada yang membantu," katanya.

Piton biasanya berada di atas pohon. Jadi saat berjalan penting juga untuk melihat ke atas, mewaspadai keberadaan piton.

Selain itu, penting untuk tidak mengganggu. "Kalau menemukan piton, lebih baik mundur. Jangan malah diganggu," ungkap Mirza.

Menurutnya, ular pada umumnya merupakan hewan pemalu. Jika manudia menghindar, maka ular tidak akan mengejar seperti singa.(*)
