Seorang bocah 5 tahun, sebut saja namanya Andy, menangis meraung terkejut melihat pemandangan di depannya begitu bangun dari tidur! Ternyata, karena ayahnya Andy sibuk dengan pekerjaannya, sehingga tidak sempat menemami anak-anak, akhirnya membelikan iPad, ponsel dan perangkat elektronik terbaru lainnya untuk Andy.

Semenjak usia 2 tahun, Andy telah menjadi salah satu komunitas Phubbing (istilah tindakan acuh seseorang di dalam sebuah lingkungan karena lebih fokus pada gadged dari pada membangun sebuah percakapan), hampir setiap hari menundukkan kepala fokus pada produk elektroniknya. Dokter menuturkan, “Gejala strabismus anak-anak erat hubungannya dengan penggunaan produk elektronik.”

Di televisi berulang kali terdengar berita tentang produk elektronik yang menyebabkan masalah pada mata anak-anak. tapi kenapa masalah terkait masih saja sering terjadi? Sebenarnya salah salah faktor yang menyebabkan anak-anak menjadi komunitas Phubbing, adalah kepala keluarga. Anak-anak tidak bisa apapun ketika lahir, kebiasaan-kebiasaan yang diketahuinya itu terutama berasal dari orang tua, dan orang tua adalah obyek yang ditiru oleh mereka.

Contoh dari Andy ini bisa kita ketahui, bahwa pasangan orang tua anak ini tidak punya waktu untuk menemani anaknya, kemudian mereka membelikan produk elektronik untuknya, meskipun si anak menjadi tenang tidak merecoki orang tua lagi karena asyik bermain dengan gadgetnya, tapi sebaiknya hati-hati jangan sampai berlebihan menggunakan mata (menatap layar ponsel dalam waktu lama).

Aturan dalam penggunaan produk elektronik :

1. Posisi yang benar

Saat mengutak-atik ponsel atau nonton TV, sebaiknya menjaga posisi tubuh yang benar. Sebisa mungkin layarnya ditegakkan dan letakkan secara vertikal, sehingga mata si bocah memandang layar secara datar, dan duduk dengan tegak.

Jangan mengutak-atik produk elektronik dalam kondisi berbaring atau meringkuk di sofa.

2. Jaga kecerahan layar

Pilihlah kecerahan layar yang sesuai. Jika bermain di rumah pada malam hari, sebaiknya nyalakan lampu kamar, jangan mengutak-atik ponsel dalam kegelapan.

3. Tentukan batas waktu

Tentukan jadwal bermain anak-anak, setiap hari dikontrol waktu bermainnya, setiap kali bermain atau menatap/kontak layar jangan lebih dari 30 menit.

4. Tingkatkan minat belajar

Didalam ponsel banyak perangkat lunak yang cocok untuk pembelajaran anak-anak, dapat meningkatkan secara drastis minat anak dalam belajar, misalnya belajar tentang bilangan, lagu anak-anak, belajar keaksaraan semuanya ini dapat dipelajari anak-anak di APP.

5. Menyaring berita

Pilih animasi, game yang cocok untuk anak-anak,hilangkan materi yang tidak sehat bagi anak-anak.

Sebenarnya, bukan hanya anak-anak, orang-orang dewasa sekarang juga banyak yang dihinggapi “penyakit” Phubbing, bermain bersama beberapa jam, imbasnya pada mata mungkin dapat menyebabkan:

1. Kebutaan sementara

Ada netizens yang menceritakan, bahwa setiap malam menjelang tidur ia selalu membaca buku melalui ponselnya. Suatu malam ia mematikan lampu, kemudian membaca e-booknya sekitar 20 menit, dan tiba-tiba mata kanannya mengalami kebutaan sementara, kurang lebih 10 menit kemudian matanya kembali normal.

2. Atrofi Otak

Beberapa hari yang lalu, seorang mahasiswa yang selama lebih dari dua tahun terbiasa berkutat dengan ponselnya setiap malam jam 9 di atas ranjang, terus bermain hingga jam 3 dini hari baru tidur. Belakangan ia mengalami insomnia, depresi, suka marah-marah, dan oleh dokter yang memeriksanya ia didiagnosis mengidap gejala atrofi otak.

Dokter menuturkan, “Mahasiswa itu tidak membatasi waktu mainnya dengan smartphone, ditambah lagi malamnya yang merupakan waktunya otak beristirahat, adalah faktor utama yang menyebabkan otaknya mengalami penyusutan.”

3. Kematian mendadak

Pada 2015 lalu, seorang ibu 27 tahun sepanjang hari asyik bermain dengan ponselnya, keesokan paginya ia ditemukan tewas oleh anggota keluarga di rumah, bahkan saat tewas matanya masih dalam keadaan menatap layar ponsel.

Dokter mengatakan, “Ibu muda itu tewas karena kelelahan ekstrim akibat bermain ponsel sepanjang malam, dan tiba-tiba penyakit jantungnya kumat lalu mati mendadak.”
