Berikut ini 5 hal baik yang sebaiknya tidak dilakukan setelah makan, semoga info ini bermanfaat:
1. Mandi
Pada pagi hari kebanyakan orang lebih memilih makan dulu daripada mandi dengan alasan setelah makan pasti perut menjadi penuh dan hasrat ingin buang hajat lebih besar. Sehingga kita berpikir untuk mandi sekalian BAB.
Padahal, mandi yang dilakukan setelah makan akan menaikkan aliran darah ke tangan, kaki dan badan yang menyebabkan jumlah darah sekitar perut akan terus berkurang. Hal ini akan melemahkan sistem pencernaan di dalam perut.
Mandi sehabis makan, volume aliran darah pada permukaan tubuh akan meningkat, dan volume aliran darah pada saluran usus dan lambung akan berkurang, sehingga membuat fungsi pencernaan usus lambung melemah, dan menyebabkan pencernaan buruk.
Selain itu, setelah makan tubuh melakukan kegiatan metabolisme, mengolah, menyerap dan mengalirkan zat-zat makanan, suhu tubuh meningkat tajam. Tak heran kita sering merasa gerah dan berkeringat setelah makan. Suhu meningkat disebabkan aliran darah yang lebih cepat.
Dalam kondisi itu, bila kita tiba-tiba menyiram tubuh dengan air, berarti kita memberikan kejutan pada permukaan tubuh. Aliran darah dan syaraf-syaraf di kulit tiba-tiba menjadi dingin. Bila ini sering terjadi, maka akan terjadi kerusakan permanen pada pembuluh darah.
2. Makan buah-buahan
Kebiasaan makan buah setelah makan ternyata adalah kebiasaan yang keliru. Setelah makanan masuk ke lambung, lambung membutuhkan waktu 1-2 jam untuk mencerna, jika seusai makan lalu menyantap buah, buah akan terhambat oleh makanan yang telah lebih dulu disantap, akibatnya buah-buahan tidak bisa tercerna secara normal. Jika berlangsung lama, akan menyebabkan gejala perut kembung, diare atau susah buang air besar dan gejala lainnya.
3. Minum teh kental
Minum teh seusai makan, dapat mengencerkan getah lambung, akibatnya mempengaruhi pencernaan makanan. Selain itu, daun teh banyak mengandung tanin (asam tanat), jika minum teh seusai makan, akan membuat protein yang belum sempat dicerna lambung menyatu dengan asam tanat dan membentuk sedimen yang tidak mudah dicerna, sehingga mempengaruhi serapan protein. Teh juga dapat menghambat serapan zat besi, jika keadaan demikian berlangsung lama dapat terjadi gejala anemia karena kurang zat besi.
4. Tidur
Hasil sebuah penelitian yang dilakukan University of Ioannina, Yunani, menemukan bahwa perilaku segera tidur setelah makan dapat meningkatkan risiko kita mengalami serangan stroke. Penelitian yang melibatkan 500 responden orang sehat menemukan bahwa orang yang memiliki jeda paling lama antara makan dan tidur mempunyai risiko terendah untuk mengalami stroke.
Ada dua teori yang bisa menjelaskan hasil penelitian ini. Pertama, refluks asam yang terjadi bila kita segera tidur setelah makan mungkin meningkatkan terjadinya apnea tidur atau nafas terhenti selama tidur yang bisa menyebabkan serangan stroke.
Teori kedua mengemukakan, stroke bisa terjadi disebabkan oleh kerasnya kerja sistem pencernaan kita yang berdampak pada meningkatnya tekanan darah, kadar gula darah dan kolesterol yang nantinya bisa memicu terjadinya stroke.
Selain itu, bila kita langsung tidur sesudah makan, glukosa dan kalori akan mengendap dalam tubuh dan menyebabkan kegemukan atau obesitas.
Kapan sebaiknya kita bisa tidur setelah makan? Yang terbaik adalah dua jam sesudahnya.
5. Sikat Gigi
Mulut memiliki pH normal 7, sementara makanan asam bisa menurunkan pH tersebut. Saat hal ini terjadi, sebaiknya seseorang menunggu hingga pH dalam mulut kembali normal. Jika dipaksa untuk langsung menggosok gigi ketika pH mulut masih asam, maka ini justru menambah kemungkinan kerusakan gigi.
Oleh sebab itu, pada saat selesai makan sebaiknya tidak langsung menggosok gigi. Tunggu beberapa saat hingga pH dalam mulut netral. Air liur dalam mulut dapat membantu untuk menetralisir asam, silahkan menggosok gigi setidaknya 1 jam setelah makan.
Untuk menetralkan atau menyeimbangkan pH dalam mulut bisa juga dilakukan dengan cara berkumur menggunakan air atau mouthwash.
