Alam dunia yang kita tempati ini ternyata juga duhuni oleh bangsa selain manusia. Bangsa manusia wujudnya dapat kita lihat, berjalan di permukaan bumi serta memiliki dimensi ruang dan waktu yang kita ketahui. Bagaimana dengan bangsa jin yang menghuni alam gaib yang kita tidak ketahui hakekatnya ini ?
Allah telah mengabarkan diantaranya di dalam Surat Ar-Rahman ayat 15 bahwa “Dan Dia menciptakan jin dari nyala api.” Allah menciptakan bangsa jin dari bahan yang berbeda dengan manusia. Jika manusia telah diciptakan dari tanah, maka Allah menciptakan jin dari nyala api. Api memiliki sifat membakar tetapi ringan, berbeda dengan tanah yang lembek dan bisa disentuh. Karena itulah, dalam kenyataan di dunia ini bangsa jin yang memiliki sifat lain itu diberikan oleh Allah dimensi ruang dan waktu yang lain pula untuk mereka, berbeda dengan dimensi manusia walaupun bertempat tinggal di bumi yang sama.
Selain itu, malaikat pun juga ada yang berada di bumi, contohnya adalah malaikat pendamping manusia dan jin. Malaikat ini tidak dapat dilihat oleh bangsa manusia dan juga oleh jin, berarti mereka pun memiliki dimensi lain di bumi ini, wallahu’alam.
Bagaimana kehidupan bangsa jin di dimensinya itu ?. Tidak ada yang tahu pasti bagaimana bentuk kehidupan di sana, kecuali oleh orang-orang yang dikehendaki oleh Allah SWT dan kita hanya mendapatkan sedikit sekali informasi mengenai hal itu. Contohnya adalah, ada suatu cerita yang mengatakan bahwa terdapat beberapa dari kalangan bangsa jin yang telah beriman kepada Rasulullah, diantara mereka ada yang telah beriman sejak Nabi Nuh As. Kemudian di dalam buku “Dialog dengan Jin Muslim” Muhammad Isa Dawud bercerita bahwa di kalangan bangsa Jin, masa hidup mereka sangat lama, bahkan bila dalam perhitungan manusia adalah beberapa ratus tahun ternyata bagi bangsa mereka, jin itu dianggap masih remaja. Bahkan menurut pengakuan jin muslim yang diajak bicara oleh Muhammad Isa Dawud, Qarin (jin pendamping) Rasulullah SAW sampai sekarang masih hidup dan berdakwah di kalangan bangsa jin serta memiliki majelis yang selalu ramai diunjungi oleh kaum muslimin dari bangsa jin. Wallahu’alam.
Selain daripada itu, mereka mampu pula bergerak dengan sangat cepat, hal ini mungkin dikarenakan oleh sifat api yang ringan itu. Kalau masalah cepatnya gerakan mereka itu ada sebuah ayat yang menceritakannya, yaitu di surat An Naml ayat 39 yang mengisahkan tentang dialog seorang jin dengan Nabi Sulaiman As.
Berkata Ifrit ( yang cerdik ) dari golongan jin, " Aku akan datang kepadamu dengan membawa singgasana itu kepadamu sebelum kamu berdiri dari tempat dudukmu, sesungguhnya aku benar - benar kuat untuk membawanya ( dan ) dapat dipercaya " .
Dari sepenggalan ayat yang mengisahkan mengenai Nabi Sulaiman dan Ratu Balqis di atas dapat diketahui bahwa bangsa jin memiliki kemampuan bergerak sangat cepat. Bayangkan saja, ia telah berjanji kepada Nabi Sulaiman untuk sanggup membawa singgasana Ratu Balqis dari Saba’ ke Palestina yang jaraknya sekitar 2500 km itu hanya dalam hitungan menit saja.
Dari sepengal informasi di atas yang kita peroleh, maka dapatlah kita ketahui bahwa ternyata bangsa jin mampu bergerak sangat cepat, mungkin bisa beberapa kali dari kecepatan bunyi ( 340 meter/detik ) dan memiliki umur yang sangat panjang. Kalau kita coba analisa dengan Teori Relativitas Einstein hal ini sebenarnya cocok sekali, mengapa ? karena dari rumusan teorinya dapat diketahui bahwa semakin cepat gerakan seseorang maka ia dapat menjadi awet muda, karena waktu berjalan semakin lambat baginya.
Dengan kuasa dan kehendak Allah, bangsa jin mampu bergerak dengan sangat cepat bahkan sampai bisa menembus batas langit yang belum mampu digapai oleh manusia. Surat Al Jin ayat 8 dan 9 menceritakan kisah mereka ketika menembus langit tersebut.
“Dan sesungguhnya kami (bangsa jin) telah mencoba mengetahui ( rahasia ) langit , maka kami mendapatinya penuh dengan penjagaan yang kuat dan panah - panah api. Dan sesungguhnya kami dahulu dapat menduduki beberapa tempat di langit itu untuk mendengar - dengarkan ( berita - beritanya ) . Tetapi sekarang barangsiapa yang ( mencoba ) mendengar - dengarkan ( seperti itu ) tentu akan menjumpai panah api yang mengintai ( untuk membakarnya ) . "
Dengan kemampuan fisik yang dikaruniakan oleh Allah kepada mereka, maka mereka mampu terbang sampai bisa menembus langit untuk mendengarkan berita-beritanya. Sesungguhnya mereka mampu menempati beberapa tempat di langit sebelum kedatangan Rasulullah Muhammad SAW, tetapi setelah kedatangan beliau sebagai utusan Allah, maka bangsa jin tidak mampu lagi mendengarkan berita-berita dari langit karena Allah telah menjaganya dengan panah-panah api.
Apakah mereka juga menggunakan teknologi untuk bisa menembus langit ?. Kita tidak mengetahui dengan jelas perkara ini, yang pasti adalah Allah telah mengaruniakan kepada mereka kemampuan untuk bisa bergerak sangat cepat.
Dalam hal menembus langit dan bumi, sebenarnya tidak hanya bangsa jin saja yang mampu untuk melakukannya, sebenarnya manusia pun mampu jika kita menguasai teknologinya. Bukankah di dalam surat Ar-Rahman ayat 33 Allah telah mengabarkan kepada kita tentang hal ini?.
Wahai sekalian jin dan manusia, jika kamu sanggup menembus ( melintasi ) penjuru langit dan bumi, maka lintasilah, kamu tidak dapat menembusnya melainkan dengan kekuatan.
Seruan ayat ini tidak hanya untuk bangsa jin saja, melainkan manusia pun juga diseru pada ayat ini. Jadi jelaslah di sini bahwasanya jin dan manusia sebenarnya diberikan potensi oleh Allah untuk bisa menembus langit dan bumi, hanya saja perlu kekuatan untuk bisa melakukannya. Kekuatan di sini bisa berarti kekuatan fisik ataupun penguasaan teknologi. Bahkan bangsa jin sekalipun tanpa kekuatan tidak akan mampu menembus langit dan bumi itu dengan mudah.
Kesimpulan yang dapat kita ambil dari pembahasan mengenai bangsa jin ini ialah mereka ternyata telah mampu menembus batas langit bahkan sebelum manusia mampu mencapai ke bulan di pertengahan abad 20 yang lalu. Informasi ini dapat kita lihat kembali di surat Al Jin ayat 8 dan 9 di atas. Dari sini dapat diketahui bahwa bangsa jin telah memiliki kemampuan yang mungkin berasal dari teknologi dan kekuatan yang dikaruniakan Allah kepada mereka untuk menembus langit sejak dahulu kala. Namun kita tidak dapat mengetahui dengan pasti batas langit mana yang telah dicapai oleh bangsa Jin itu, karena tidak ada ayat Al-Qur’an maupun hadits yang menjelaskannya secara mendetail.
Selain pernah menembus batas langit, mereka juga mampu bergerak sangat cepat sampai beberapa kali dari kecepatan bunyi sehingga jarak yang jauh bukan masalah bagi mereka, seperti yang dikabarkan di surat An Naml ayat 39. Tetapi tentunya kemampuan ini tidaklah setara dengan kemampuan para malaikat-Nya dalam menembus langit dengan kecepatan yang jauh lebih hebat lagi seperti yang kita ketahui pada pembahasan sebelumnya.
