Daun singkong mengandung vitamin A.B1 dan C,kalsium,kalori,fosfor, protein, lemak, hidrat arang dan zat besi. Sementara kulit batangnya mengandung tannin,enzim peroksidase, glikosida dan kalsium oksalat. Selain sebagain makanan,tanaman singkong memiliki sebagai khasiat sebagai obat.
Berikut ini resep penggunaan singkong untuk mengobati beberapa penyakit :
Rematik
Pada pemakaian luar, sebanyak 5 lembar daun singkong,15 gram jahe merah,dan kapur sirih secukupnya,dihaluskan dan ditambahkan air secukupnya.Setelah di aduk,ramuan di oleskan pada bagian tubuh yang sakit.
Pada pemakaian dalam,100 gram batang singkong.1 batang sereh,dan 15 gram jahe direbus dengan 1000cc air hingga tersisa 400cc.Lalu,disaring dan diminum airnya sebanyak 200cc.Lakukan 2kali sehari.
Sakit Kepala
Daun singkong ditumbuk lalu digunakan untuk kompres.Sebagai obat demam,60 gram batang pohon singkong,30 gram jaliyang telah direndam hingga lembut direbus dengan 800cc air hingga tersisa 400cc,ramuan disaring dan diminum airnya sebanyak 200cc,Lakukan 2 kali sehari.
Luka Bernanah
Batang singkong segar ditumbuk lalu ditempelkkan pada bagian tubuh yang sakit.Untuk Luka garukan,singkong diparut lalu ditempelkan pada bagian yang sakit dan diperban.
Diare
Ambil 7 lembar daun singkong direbus dengan 800cc air hingga tersisa 400cc.Lalu disaring dan diminum airnya sebanyak 200cc.Lakukan 2 kali sehari.

Maag
Ambil singkong yang masih muda.Kupas dan cuci lalu dimakan mentah.Bisa juga direbus terlebih dahulu.Namun lebih di utamakan dengan cara dimakan mentah.

Ambil 1 potong singkong.Parut dan kemudian peras untuk ambil airnya,kemudian biarkan beberapa saat sampai tepung tapiokanya mengendap.Oleskan tepungnya pada bagian tubuh yang luka.Bisa juga dengan mengambil 2 atau 4 helai daun singkong tua(bukan yang kering)banyaknya daun tergantung besar dan banyaknya luka.Daun itu dikunyah dan dimamah sampai agak halus.Lalu tempelkan pada luka dan biarkan sekira 10-15 menit.Setelah itu bisa dbuang.
Kutu Air
Ambillah singkong yang masih muda(baru dipetik dari batangnya),lalu dikelupas dan parut.Setelah itu tempelkan parutan tersebut pada bagian yang terkena kutu air (yang luka).Jika parutan anda tempelkan itu sudah mengering,maka gantilah dengan parutan yang baru.Dengan cara tersebut,dalam waktu 2 hari luka kutu air akan sembuh.
