Mulai membersihkan keyboard dan tombol-tombol di ponsel Anda (jika ada) dengan menggunakan cotton bud yang sudah terlebih dahulu dibasahi dengan alkohol. Jangan menggosok terlalu keras dan hindari sisa alkohol masuk ke dalam sela-sela handphone.

Jika Anda memiliki fitur besi pada badan ponsel Anda, bersihkan dengan cotton bud yang dicelup air bersih.
Saat bagian luar ponsel sudah bersih, gunakan cotton bud bersih dan kering untuk mengelap bagian dalam tempat baterai ponsel Anda. Jika kotoran membandel, gunakan sedikit air untuk membantu mengangkatnya. Keringkan area tersebut secepatnya setelah Anda bersihkan.
Untuk membersihkan kamera belakang dan flash, gunakan cotton bud yang dicelup air bersih dan gosok dengan gerakan memutar. Begitu lensa kering, segera keringkan dengan sisi lain dari cotton bud Anda agar air tidak mengering dan membekas di lensa.

Bersihkan ponsel dengan hati-hati, terutama jika layar ponsel Anda retak. Menggosok terlalu keras akan memperparah keretakan. Selain itu, lebih baik gunakan lap kering saat mengelap layar ponsel Anda untuk menghindari partikel air masuk ke dalam ponsel lewat sela-sela keretakan.

Diankan ponsel Anda selama beberapa menit sampai kering sepenuhnya, kemudian nyalakan kembali.
Untuk membersihkan aksesoris casing plastik, lap permukaan casing dengan alkohol yang dilarutkan dengan air (60:40) dan cotton bud. Keringkan casing sebelum dipasang kembali.
Untuk membatasi penyebaran penyakit dari ponsel, cobalah untuk tidak saling meminjam ponsel, atau sesekali gosok badan ponsel Anda dengan tisu basah antibakteri. Bahan kimia dalam larutan pembersih dan disinfektan rumah tangga lainnya terlalu keras untuk digunakan membersihkan ponsel, dan malah bisa membuat ponsel Anda rusak.
Pastikan Anda tidak membersihkan ponsel kesayangan Anda dengan pembersih jendela, semprotan aerosol, pelarut, ammonia, pemutih, atau produk abrasif. Pembersih jenis ini akan menodai ponsel Anda dan mengikis lapisan pelindungnya.
