Hanya karena hal ini, wanita ini malah merelakan jilbabnya dilepas dan pada akhirnya akibat tak terduga pun menimpanya.
Jilbab merupakan bagian dari syari’at yang penting untuk dilaksanakan oleh seorang muslimah. Ia bukanlah sekedar identitas atau menjadi hiasan semata dan juga bukan penghalang bagi seorang muslimah untuk menjalankan aktivitas kehidupannya. Menggunakan jilbab yang sesuai dengan tuntunan Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam adalah wajib dilakukan oleh setiap muslimah, sama seperti ibadah-ibadah lainnya seperti sholat, puasa yang diwajibkan bagi setiap muslim.
Ia bukanlah kewajiban terpisah dikarenakan kondisi daerah seperti dikatakan sebagian orang (karena Arab itu berdebu, panas dan sebagainya). Ia juga bukan kewajiban untuk kalangan tertentu (yang sudah naik haji atau anak pesantren).
Benar saudariku… memakai jilbab adalah kewajiban kita sebagai seorang muslimah. Dan dalam pemakaiannya kita juga harus memperhatikan apa yang telah diajarkan oleh Nabi Muhammad shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam. Haruslah istiqamah dalam memakainya, bukan hanya pada saat tertentu ataupun karena sebab tertentu.
Karena jangan sampai hal seperti kisah ini terjadi pada kalian wahai saudariku. Sebuah kisah yang bermula ketika ada wanita yang membuka jilbabnya karena karir, dan selanjutnya pun bisa dilihat bersama berikut ini.
Satu pesan BBM masuk. Dari seorang junior waktu sekolah yang juga pernah sama-sama bekerja di kantor lama kami.
“Kak, aku diterima jadi resepsionis di salah satu PT di kawasan XXX.”
Aku pun segera mengetik balasan, “Ohya? Wahh … Alhamdulillah yaa, Mawar! Selamat!”
“Tapi Kak ….”
“Tapi apa?”
“Aku harus lepas jilbab.”
Hatiku seketika bergemuruh.
Bagaimana mungkin Mawar (bukan nama sebenarnya) bisa goyah begini. Gadis cantik yang belum lama menggunakan hijab itu kan tahu sendiri, bagaimana reaksi orang-orang di kantor keempatku, waktu ada salah satu karyawatinya yang melepas jilbab. Ternyata setelah ditelusuri penyebabnya, tak lain karena dia nekat berpacaran dengan pria non muslim. Sudah pacaran … dengan non muslim pula. Belum nikah saja, jilbab sudah ditanggalkan. Bagaimana kalau sudah menikah? Masihkah iman Islam terpatri dalam hati?
“Astaghfirullah, War. Jangan,” ketikku mengingatkan.
“Tapi, Kak. Aku butuh pekerjaan. Kakak kan tahu, aku harus ngebiayain kuliah sendiri.”
“Iya, aku tahu, War. Tapi apa kamu gak percaya, Allah lah Yang Maha Pemberi rezeki?”
“Percaya, Kak. Tapi aku bener-bener buntu, Kak. Aku harus dapet pekerjaan secepatnya.”
“Loh, waktu di sini, kamu mau diperpanjang kontraknya dan boleh berjilbab, kamu gak mau.”
“Iya Kak. Tapi kalo di situ aku udah nggak betah. Orang-orangnya rese. Kakak sendiri kan juga mau resign dari situ?” Mawar kembali menyanggah.
“Iya, Mawar. Aku tahu. Tapi, setidaknya di sini kamu boleh berjilbab. Walaupun di sini gajinya di bawah UMR, setidaknya kita nggak disuruh lepas jilbab.”
“Iya sih, Kak.”
“Pikirin lagi semuanya baik-baik, War. Istikharah. Belum tentu juga nanti di sana kamu betah.”
“Aku kayaknya nggak ada pilihan lain deh, Kak. Aku sudah tanda tangan kontrak. Senin depan aku mulai kerja. Tapi di luar PT, aku tetap berjilbab kok, Kak.”
“Kenapa kamu baru bilang setelah tanda tangan kontrak? Ya Allah, andai aku punya cukup uang buat minjemin kamu bayar biaya kuliah, Mawar. Sedih aku. Ngerasa nggak guna jadi temen.” Aku mengetik pesan dengan hati yang runyam.
Ketika melihat teman baru berhijab, aku bahagia bukan kepalang. Begitu juga sebaliknya, ketika mengetahui seseorang harus membuka hijabnya. Aku seketika lemas. Merasa gagal. Berlebihan? Yaa … tapi sungguh itu yang kurasakan.
Kalian tahu apa yang terjadi bahkan tak sampai sebulan kemudian? Mawar kembali mengirim pesan padaku.
“Kak! Kakak benar. Aku gak betah di sini, Kak!”
“Ya Allah, Mawar … kenapa??”
“Kerjaanku di sini ternyata nggak cuma jadi resepsionis, Kak. Tapi serabutan, bantuin kerjaan bagian lain juga. Belum lagi, tiap hari lobby tempatku bekerja bau asap dupa. Di sini juga ada beberapa patung yang dikramatkan, Kak.”
“Dikramatkan gimana?”
“Iya. Patung-patung itu dirawat khusus, Kak. Nggak boleh sampai kenapa-kenapa. Semacam sesuatu yang sangat penting buat yang punya PT.”
“Astaghfirullah. Terus gimana, Mawar?”
“Belum tahu, Kak. Aku coba bertahan. Tapi kalau nggak kuat, mungkin aku akan resign.”
“Loh, bukannya kamu udah tanda tangan kontrak selama beberapa bulan ke depan? Memangnya di sana nggak ada pinalti?” tanyaku lagi.
“Ada sih, Kak.”
“Lahhh, terus? Duitnya gimana?”
“Aku kabur aja nanti, Kak. Biar nggak usah bayar uang pinalti, karena keluar sebelum kontrak selesai.”
“Ya Allah, Mawar.”
“Huhuhu … aku nyesel, Kak. Coba aja aku ikutin apa kata Kakak waktu itu.”
Entah bagaimana caranya, berita terakhir yang kudapatkan akhirnya Mawar keluar dari PT itu. Dan Alhamdulillah, saat ini dia sudah berjilbab kembali, bahkan lebih syar’i.
“Kali ini semoga istiqomah yaa, Mawar. Belajar dari pengalaman kemarin.” Aku mengirim pesan, usai mengetahui bahwa ia kembali berhijab.
“Iya, Kak. In Syaa Allah. Aku nggak akan sampai lepas jilbab lagi! Doain aku ya, Kak.”
“As always, Dear. Kita saling mendoakan yaa ….”
“Iya Kaaak.”
Ohya!
Temanku yang satu lagi juga Alhamdulillah sudah putus dengan pacarnya. Dan kini ia pun berhijab kembali. Doakan kami semua istiqomah yaa. Aamiin Yaa Robbal Alamiin.
Aku pun pernah sampai melepas jilbab, saat pertama kali bekerja usai lulus SMK, pada tahun 2007. Menyesal bukan main. Karena perlakuan para lelaki ketika melihatku dengan dan tanpa hijab, itu berbeda sekali. Padahal saat itu aku masih memakai penutup kepala. Hanya saja leher dan tangan dari sikut ke bawah, kelihatan keman-mana.
Alhamdulillah. Setahun kemudian, usahaku mencari pekerjaan lain, akhirnya membuahkan hasil. Aku diterima di sebuah perusahaan yang membolehkan semua karyawatinya untuk berhijab.
Untuk selanjutnya, di perusahaan ketiga, keempat dan kelima yang tak lain adalah tempatku bekerja sekarang, Alhamdulillah! Aku bebas menunaikan kewajibanku sebagai seorang muslimah, yakni menutup aurat.
Tiga kali, ada pengalaman interview dengan orang asing. Satu bule, orang Korea, dan yang ketiga orang Jepang. Tentu perasaan ketar-ketir karena aku menolak berjabat tangan dengan mereka. Yang sama orang Korea, tidak ada kelanjutan alias ditolak bekerja di sana. Yang sama bule, juga Alhamdulillah sempat diberi tahu diterima, cuma aku yang mundur, karena lokasi kerja yang ditawarkan di Meruya. Terlalu jauh, bagiku yang tinggal di Bekasi.
Yang orang Jepang ini lucu. Namanya Mr. Hiroyuki. Pada suatu kesempatan makan malam bersama teman sebagian yang lain, seorang teman yang tidak berjilbab mendekati beliau untuk difoto. Spontan, Hiroyuki-san berkata sambil memeragakan ‘jilbab’ dengan kedua tangannya.
“Woman with … no touch yaa? Kalau tidak pakai, boleh touch.” Beliau bingung menyebut jilbab itu apa, makanya hanya memeragakan dengan menyatukan kedua tangannya, yang kemudian dinaikkan ke atas kepala.
Kami tertawa. Maksud beliau adalah : perempuan dengan penutup kepala tidak boleh disentuh ya? Kalau tidak pakai, baru boleh.
See? Orang asing yang bukan muslim pun bahkan bisa menyimpulkan demikian.
Eits!
Ini bukan berarti kalian boleh touch touch wanita tanpa hijabbbbb yaaahhh! Awas lohhhh! Bukan mahrooooom!
Pertahankan hijabmu semampumu, saudariku.
Ingat! Bahkan ada suatu informasi bahwa : perempuan-perempuan di Gaza tidur pun menggunakan hijabnya. Ketika ditanya kenapa, jawaban mereka, “Agar jika sewaktu-waktu rumahku dibom, jasadku dapat ditemukan dalam keadaan menutup aurat.”

Semoga kita semua bisa senantiasa menjaga hijab ini hingga kematian menjemput kita kelak. Aamiin Yaa Robbal Alamiin.
Oleh karena itulah wahai saudariku, janganlah kita terpedaya dengan segala aktifitas dan perkataan orang yang menjadikan seseorang cenderung merasa tidak mungkin untuk menggunakan jilbab yang sesuai syari’at.
Ingatlah, bahwa sesungguhnya tidak ada teman di hari akhir yang mau menanggung dosa yang kita lakukan. Hanya kepada Allahlah kita memohon pertolongan ketika menjalankan segala ibadah yang telah disyari’atkan.
