Dr. Adrian Matius seorang pakar cuaca dunia di Institut Ilmu Lingkungan Inggris yang ketua tim penelitian gelombang ini menegaskan, sebelumnya pihaknya yakin bahwa gelombang di kedalaman lebih dari 200 meter. Namun ia kaget bercampur gembira. Bagaimana tidak, ia menemukan gelombang itu berada di kedalaman mencapai 1.500 meter. Itu gelombang normal dilihat dari suhu panas dan kadar garamnya. Ia bergerak ke arah timur setiap dua bulan melintasi ekuator Samudera Pasifik.
Penemuan ini mungkin sangat penting dalam memprediksi perubahan iklim dan cuaca di daerah tropis. Para ilmuwan yakin bahwa penyebab terciptanya gelombang ini karena perubahan iklim yang dikenal sebagai gelombang Madden Julian (Madden Julian Oscillation – MJO). Ia dapat berubah menjadi titik awal fenomena El Nino di kawasan katulistiwa yang mempengaruhi kondisi cuaca di seluruh dunia.
Ini yang ditegaskan oleh Dr. Matthew. Dia mengatakan, “Perubahan iklim itu yang menciptakan perbedaan besar dalam kehidupan manusia di beberapa wilayah seperti India dan Indonesia. Dalam sepekan, wilayah tersebut bisa terjadi hujan yang sangat lebat dan setelah beberapa minggu terjadi kekeringan yang tidak normal dan kemudian kembali ke hujan lebat lagi dan seterusnya.”
Tim peneliti menggunakan robot apung bebas yang dikenal sebagai Argo Floast dan bekerja pada kedalaman 1000 meter dan naik ke permukaan setiap 10 hari sekali dan bekerja pada pengukuran suhu panas dan salinitas (kadar garam) air. Ketika muncul ke permukaan robot mengirim semua data melalui satelit dan kemudian kembali bekerja di kedalaman. Profesor Haywood mengatakan, “Sepanjang dua tahun terakhir, terjadi revolusi dalam rangka explorasi dan sejumlah penemuan di dunia laut. Para ahli kelautan di seluruh dunia untuk merekrut robot-robot mengambang hampir 3000 buah. Sebagai hasilnya kita telah menjadi lebih mampu mengamati perubahan iklim di laut dan data perbandingan di banding era sebelumnya. Ilmu kelautan ini muncul sebelum 100 tahun lalu.

“(Perumpaan kesesatan orang kafir) atau seperti gelap gulita di lautan yang dalam, yang diliputi oleh ombak, yang di atasnya ombak (pula), di atasnya (lagi) awan; gelap gulita yang tindih-bertindih, apabila dia mengeluarkan tangannya, tiadalah dia dapat melihatnya, (dan) barangsiapa yang tiada diberi cahaya (petunjuk) oleh Allah tiadalah dia mempunyai cahaya sedikitpun” [QS:An-Nur: 40].
• Al-Quran telah menetapkan adanya kegelapan di dasar lautan yang dalam, dan menggambarkannya dengan lafadl lujjiy supaya di ketahui oleh para pengkaji Al-Quran bahwa kegelapan ini hanya terdapat di dasar lautan yang sangat dalam.﴿أَوْ كَظُلُمَاتٍ فِي بَحْرٍ لُجِّيٍّ﴾ Dengan hal ini maka lautan yg dangkal tidak ada (terdapat) kegelapan.
• Para Ulama pakar bahasa Arab dan Ulama pakar tafsir menjelaskan bahwa makna (لجي), berkata: Qatada dan pengarang tafsir Jalalain: لجي adalah dalam, dan kata al-Zamakhsyari: لجي yang dalam adalah banyaknya air, dan At-Tabari mengatakan: dan dinamakan laut itu dalam karna kedalamannya dan banyaknya air,dan berkata Al-Bashiri: adalah susuatu yang tidak diketahui dasar (bawah) nya dan kedalaman itu sebab besarnya (volume) air dan kombinasi dari kedalaman,maka kedalaman lautan itu jika gelombangnya saling berbenturan.
• Dan kegelapan ini terjadi karena kedalaman di dasar (bawah) laut, yaitu kegelapan pada kedalaman yang telah diisyaratkan di atas. Allah subhanahu Wata’ala Berfirman:
﴿أَوْ كَظُلُمَاتٍ فِي بَحْرٍ لُجِّيٍّ﴾ “Atau (orang-orang kafir itu) seperti gelap gulitanya di Lautan yang dalam...”. Al-Zamakhsyari berkata, “Akumulasi dari kegelapan adalah sebab dalamnya laut disertai ombak dan awan”
،وقال الخازن:(كظلمات في بحر لجي أي عميق كثير الماء …معناه أن البحر اللجي يكون قعره مظلماً جداً بسبب غمورة الماء)وقال المراغي:(فإن البحر يكون مظلم القعر جداً بسبب غور الماء …).
Al-Khazen berkata, “Seperti kegelapan di laut yang dalam yaitu kedalaman dasar (bawah) air … artinya bahwa lautan yang dalam dasar (kedalamannya) itu menjadi gelap gulita di sebabkan dasar (bawah) air yang dalam.”
Al-Maraghi mengatakan, “Lautan menjadi gelap gulita itu karna bawah air laut yang sangat dalam”
Al-Quran menyebutkan bahwa di kedalaman lautan yang dalam terdapat gelombang yang menutupi di atas.
﴿أَوْ كَظُلُمَاتٍ فِي بَحْرٍ لُجِّيٍّ يَغْشَاهُ مَوْجٌ… ﴾ .
Ayat ini menyebutkan adanya gelombang lain di atas gelombang pertama. Ada dua gelombang pada saat yang sama salah satunya berada di atas yang lain. Bukan gelombang-gelombang beruntun di satu tempat namun dua gelombang; gelombang kedua di atas gelombang pertama. (toyyib)
Keajaiban Ilmiah:
Al Quran Al-Karim telah menggambarkan rahasia ini serta fakta-fakta tentang laut ,Allah Subhanahu wata’ala berfirman:
﴿أَوْ كَظُلُمَاتٍ فِي بَحْرٍ لُجِّيٍّ يَغْشَاهُ مَوْجٌ مِنْ فَوْقِهِ مَوْجٌ مِنْ فَوْقِهِ سَحَابٌ ظُلُمَاتٌ بَعْضُهَا فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ إِذَا أَخْرَجَ يَدَهُ لَمْ يَكَدْ يَرَاهَا وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجْعَلْ اللَّهُ لَهُ نُورًا فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ نُورٍ(40)﴾ [النور:40]
