Hadits Tentang Puasa Rajab
Ibnu Rajab rahimahullah berkata, “Hadits yang menunjukkan keutamaan puasa Rajab secara khusus tidaklah shahih dari Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam dan para sahabatnya.” (Latho’if Al Ma’arif, hal. 213). Ibnu Rajab menjelaskan pula, “Sebagian salaf berpuasa pada bulan haram seluruhnya (bukan hanya pada bulan Rajab saja, pen). Sebagaimana hal ini dilakukan oleh Ibnu ‘Umar, Al Hasan Al Bashri, dan Abu Ishaq As Sabi’iy. Ats Tsauri berkata, “Bulan haram sangat kusuka berpuasa di dalamnya.” (Latho’if Al Ma’arif, hal. 214).
Ibnu Rajab kembali berkata, “Tidak dimakruhkan jika seseorang berpuasa Rajab namun disertai dengan puasa sunnah pada bulan lainnya. Demikian pendapat sebagian ulama Hambali. Seperti misalnya ia berpuasa Rajab disertai pula dengan puasa pada bulan haram lainnya. Atau bisa pula dia berpuasa Rajab disertai dengan puasa pada bulan Sya’ban. Sebagaimana telah disebutkan bahwa Ibnu ‘Umar dan ulama lainnya berpuasa pada bulan haram (bukan hanya bulan Rajab saja). Ditegaskan pula oleh Imam Ahmad bahwa siapa yang berpuasa penuh pada bulan Rajab, maka saja ia telah melakukan puasa dahr yang terlarang (yaitu berpuasa setahun penuh).” (Latho’if Al Ma’arif, hal. 215).
Ibnul Qayyim rahimahullah berkata, “Setiap hadits yang membicarakan puasa Rajab dan shalat pada sebagian malam (seperti shalat setelah Maghrib pada malam-malam pertama bulan Rajab, pen), itu berdasarkan hadits dusta.” (Al Manar Al Munif, hal. 49).
Penulis Fiqh Sunnah, Syaikh Sayyid Sabiq rahimahullah berkata, “Adapun puasa Rajab, maka ia tidak memiliki keutamaan dari bulan haram yang lain. Tidak ada hadits shahih yang menyebutkan keutamaan puasa Rajab secara khusus. Jika pun ada, maka hadits tersebut tidak bisa dijadikan dalil pendukung.” (Fiqh Sunnah, 1: 401).
Sebagaimana dinukil oleh Sayyid Sabiq dalam Fiqh Sunnah (1: 401), Ibnu Hajar Al Asqolani berkata, “Tidak ada dalil yang menunjukkan keutamaan puasa di bulan Rajab atau menjelaskan puasa tertentu di bulan tersebut. Begitu pula tidak ada dalil yang menganjurkan shalat malam secara khusus pada bulan Rajab. Artinya, tidak ada dalil shahih yang bisa jadi pendukung.”
Syaikh Sholih Al Munajjid hafizhohullah berkata, “Adapun mengkhususkan puasa pada bulan Rajab, maka tidak ada hadits shahih yang menunjukkan keutamaannya atau menunjukkan anjuran puasa saat bulan Rajab. Yang dikerjakan oleh sebagian orang dengan mengkhususkan sebagian hari di bulan Rajab untuk puasa dengan keyakinan bahwa puasa saat itu memiliki keutamaan dari yang lainnya, maka tidak ada dalil yang mendukung hal tersebut.” (Fatwa Al Islam Sual wal Jawab no. 75394)
Puasa Hari Tertentu dari Bulan Rajab
Komisi Fatwa Kerajaan Saudi Arabia pernah ditanya, “Diketahui bahwa di bulan Rajab dianjurkan untuk melaksanakan puasa sunnah. Apakah puasa tersebut dilakukan di awal, di tengah ataukah di akhir.”
Jawaban dari para ulama yang duduk di komisi tersebut, “Yang tepat, tidaklah ada hadits yang membicarakan puasa khusus di bulan Rajab selain hadits yang dikeluarkan oleh An Nasa-i dan Abu Daud, hadits ini dishahihkan oleh Ibnu Khuzaimah dari hadits Usamah, ia berkata, “Wahai Rasulullah, aku tidaklah pernah melihatmu berpuasa yang lebih bersemangat dari bulan Sya’ban.” Beliau bersabda, “Bulan Sya’ban adalah waktu saat manusia itu lalai, bulan tersebut terletak antara Rajab dan Ramadhan. Bulan Sya’ban adalah saat amalan diangkat pada Allah, Rabb semesta alam. Oleh karenanya, aku suka amalanku diangkat sedangkan aku dalam keadaan berpuasa.” (HR. Ahmad 5: 201, An Nasai dalam Al Mujtaba 4: 201, Ibnu Abi Syaibah (3: 103), Abu Ya’la, Ibnu Zanjawaih, Ibnu Abi ‘Ashim, Al Barudi, Sa’id bin Manshur sebagaimana disebutkan dalam Kanzul ‘Amal 8: 655).
Yang ada hanyalah hadits yang sifatnya umum yang memotivasi untuk melakukan puasa tiga setiap bulannya dan juga dorongan untuk melakukan puasa pada ayyamul bidh yaitu 13, 14, 15 dari bulan hijriyah. Juga dalil yang ada sifatnya umum yang berisi motivasi untuk melakukan puasa pada bulan haram (Dzulqo’dah, Dzulhijjah, Muharram dan Rajab). Begitu pula ada anjuran puasa pada hari Senin dan Kamis. Puasa Rajab masuk dalam keumuman anjuran puasa tadi. Jika engkau ingin melakukan puasa di bulan Rajab, maka pilihlah hari-hari yang ada dari bulan tersebut. Engkau bisa memilih puasa pada ayyamul bidh atau puasa Senin-Kamis. Jika tidak, maka waktu puasa pun bebas tergantung pilihan. Adapun pengkhususan bulan Rajab dengan puasa pada hari tertentu, kami tidak mengetahui adanya dalil yang mensyari’atkan amalan tersebut.

Syaikh Sholih Al Munajjid hafizhohullah berkata, “Adapun mengkhususkan puasa pada bulan Rajab, maka tidak ada hadits shahih yang menunjukkan keutamaannya atau menunjukkan anjuran puasa saat bulan Rajab. Yang dikerjakan oleh sebagian orang dengan mengkhususkan sebagian hari di bulan Rajab untuk puasa dengan keyakinan bahwa puasa saat itu memiliki keutamaan dari yang lainnya, maka tidak ada dalil yang mendukung hal tersebut.” (Fatwa Al Islam Sual wal Jawab no. 75394)
