Segala puji bagi Allah, Tuhan sekelian alam. Selawat serta salam buat junjungan mulia Nabi Muhammad S.A.W. keluarga serta para sahabat dan pengikut yang istiqamah menuruti baginda hingga ke hari kiamat.
Sahabat yang dirahmati Allah,
Setiap orang yang hidup di dunia ini mahukan ketenangan dan kesenangan. Tiada siapa pun yang mahukan hidupnya rungsing, gelisah dan menghadapi berbagai-bagai masalah. Dalam menghadapi masalah ini, umat Islam sangat beruntung dan bertuah kerana Islam sentiasa membimbing dan menunjukkan umatnya jalan selamat yang boleh menyelesaikan masalah yang dihadapi, tetapi terpulanglah kepada kita samada mahu mengikut atau sebaliknya.
Islam menyediakan banyak jalan bagi umatnya untuk mencari ketenangan jiwa yakni mengurangkan perasaan yang tidak senang yang bersarang di hati atau di jiwa individu.
Ketenangan hati bagi seseorang insan adalah anugerah Tuhan yang tidak ternilai harganya, yang sepatutnya tidak diabaikan bahkan hendaklah dijaga dan dipelihara, kerana itu pohonlah kepada Allah Subhanahu Wataala supaya dikurniakan hati yang tenang, jauh dari ketegangan.
Banyakkanlah berzikir kepada Allah Subhanahu Wataala, memuji, memohon keampunan dan keredaannya. Itulah cara mendapatkan ketenangan. Jangan mencari ketenangan dengan perkara yang dilarang dan diharamkan oleh Allah Subhanahu Wataala seperti menghisap dadah, meminum arak dan bermacam-macam lagi kemungkaran yang ditegah dan dilarang, kerana semua itu bukan jalan penyelesaian masalah tetapi sebaliknya akan mendatangkan masalah dan padah terhadap diri sendiri, keluarga dan masyarakat bahkan negara.
Salah satu cara dan penawar bagi mengubati jiwa dan hati ialah dengan banyak-banyak mengingat Allah Subhanahu Wataala sebagaimana firman Allah Subhanahu Wataala di dalam surah Ar-Ra’d ayat 28 maksudnya : "Iaitu orang-orang yang beriman dan hati mereka menjadi tenteram dengan mengingati Allah. Ingatlah! Hanya dengan mengingati Allah lah hati menjadi tenteram."
Salah satu cara atau jalan untuk memperolehi ketenangan jiwa ialah dengan jalan beriktikaf di masjid.
Sahabat yang dimuliakan,
Iktikaf bererti diam (berhenti) dalam masjid dengan niat dan cara yang tertentu, khususnya beribadat . Manakala jika seseorang itu duduk sahaja di dalam masjid, tanpa berniat iktikaf, maka perbuatan tersebut tidaklah dikira iktikaf.
Apabila seseorang itu beriktikaf dengan tulus ikhlas kerana Allah Subhanahu Wataala dengan niat bagi mendapatkan ketenangan, insya Allah, Allah Subhanahu Wataala akan mengurniakan ketenangan jiwa untuk menghadapi hidup ini.
Oleh itu, sebelum melangkahkan kaki ke masjid untuk beriktikaf, maka kita hendaklah mempersiapkan diri kita secara zahir dan batin dengan menumpukan perhatian sepenuhnya kepada Allah Subhanahu Wataala.
Perlulah diketahui bahawa amalan-amalan yang sangat baik untuk dilakukan semasa beriktikaf ialah sembahyang, berzikir, bertahlil iaitu mengucap ‘La ilaha illallah’, bertahmid iaitu mengucap al-hamdulillah, bertasbih iaitu mengucap subhanallah, berdoa, membaca Al-Quran, membaca buku-buku Islam, mendengar tazkirah, mengajar dan sebagainya. Itulah di antara cara bagi melatih jiwa dan fikiran untuk mengingati Allah Subhanahau Wataala.
Beriktikaf adalah merupakan amalan Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam khususnya di waktu bulan Ramadhan, kerana beribadat ketika itu sangat tinggi nilainya dan besar ganjarannya di sisi Allah Subhanahu Wataala, lebih-lebih lagi dilakukan pada sepuluh hari terakhir bulan Ramadhan. Sebagaimana hadis Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam:
Maksudnya :
Dari Aishah Radiallahu-Anha ia berkata : Bahawasanya Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam beriktikaf pada sepuluh hari terakhir di bulan Ramadhan, sehinggalah baginda wafat, kemudian para isteri baginda meneruskan amalan beriktikaf selepas kewafatannya.
Selain daripada bulan Ramadan, ikhtikaf juga digalakkan di antara magrib dan isyak, kerana menunggu satu solat ke solat yang lain akan menghapuskna dosa.
Kebaikan melaksanakan aktiviti dakwah dimasjid seperti ceramah, tazkirah, forum perdana, majlis zikir dan qiyamulalil di samping mendapat pahala menuntut ilmu ianya juga mendapat pahala kerana berikhtikaf.
Terdapat banyak hikmah dan kebaikan berikhtikaf :
Pertama :
Mendatangkan ketenangan kepada fikiran dan jiwa dari bermacam-macam kesibukan dan boleh merehatkan seluruh anggota badan dari kepenatan dan keletihan.
Kedua :
Dari segi rohani : ia akan mendorong kita supaya memikirkan kelemahan diri dan merenung tanda-tanda kebesaran Allah Subhanahu Wataala kerana dengan jalan demikian akan mendekatkan kita lagi kepada Allah Subhanahu Wataala.
Ketiga :
Iktikaf boleh mendidik diri kearah jiwa Muthma’innah ( jiwa yang tenang ) dan tidak tunduk kepada dorongan hawa nafsu, sebaliknya tunduk dan taat kepada Allah Subhanahu Wataala dengan akal yang sihat.
Keempat :
Iktikaf juga akan meningkatkan iman dan takwa kerana dengan memperbanyakkan ingat kepada Allah Subhanahu Wataala sahajalah kita akan gementar dan terasa kebesaran Allah Subhanahu Wataala.
Firman Allah Subhanahu Wataala dalam surah Al-Baqarah ayat 125 maksudnya :
"Dan kami perintahkan kepada Nabi Ibrahim dan Nabi Ismail dengan berfirman: 'Bersihkanlah rumah ku (Kaabah dan Masjidil-haram dari segala perkara yang dilarang) untuk orang-orang yang bertawaf dan orang-orang yang beriktikaf (yang tetap tinggal padanya) dan orang-orang yang ruku’ dan sujud."
Iktikaf juga bermaksud bertafakur dalam masjid mencari keredaan Allah S.W.T.
Jenis-jenis iktikaf yang disyariatkan ada dua bentuk; pertama sunat, dan kedua wajib.
Iktikaf sunnat iaitu yang dilakukan secara sukarela semata-mata untuk bertaqorrub kepada Allah SWT seperti; iktikaf 10 hari terakhir bulan Ramadan.
Dan iktikaf yang wajib iaitu yang didahului dengan nazar (janji), seperti: "Kalau Allah SWT menyembuhkan penyakitku ini, maka aku akan beriktikaf."
Waktu iktikaf
Iktikaf wajib tergantung pada berapa lama waktu yang dinazarkan, sedangkan iktikaf sunat tidak ada batasan waktu tertentu, bila-bila saja pada malam atau siang hari, waktunya boleh lama atau singkat.
Ya'la bin Umayyah berkata: " Sesungguhnya aku berdiam satu jam di masjid tak lain hanya untuk beriktikaf."
Syarat-syarat iktikaf
Orang yang iktikaf harus memenuhi kriteria-kriteria sebagai berikut:
1. Muslim
2. Berakal
3. Suci dari janabah (junub), haid dan nifas.
Oleh kerana itu, iktikaf tidak sah bagi orang kafir, anak yang belum mumaiyiz (mampu membezakan), orang junub, wanita haid dan nifas.
Rukun-rukun iktikaf
1. Niat . Firman Allah S.W.T. maksudnya :"Padahal mereka hanya diperintahkan menyembah Allah, dengan ikhlas mentaati-Nya semata-mata kerana (menjalankan) agama.." (Surah al-Bayyinah ayat 5)
2. Berdiam di masjid . Firman Allah S.W.T. maksudnya : "Tetapi janganlah kamu mencampuri mereka, ketika kamu berikhtikaf." (Surah al-Baqarah ayat 187)
Sahabat yang dikasihi,
Orang mukmin sentiasa hati dan jiwanya terpaut dimasjid, kerana di masjid terdapat pahala berikhtikaf, tempat untuk beribadah kepada Allah S.W.T, terdapat majlis ilmu, perhimpunan umat Islam setempat dan di sini juga boleh membina ukuwah dan menyelesaikan berbagai masaalah yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat Islam.
Salah satu golongan yang akan mendapat perlindungan Arasy di hari akhirat nanti adalah lelaki yang hati dan jiwanya terpaut dimasjid.
Daripada Abi Hurairah (ra) bahwa Rasulullah S.A.W. bersabda maksudnya : "Ada tujuh golongan yang akan mendapat perlindungan Allah pada hari yang tiada perlindungan kecuali perlindunganNya:
1. Imam (pemimpin) yang adil.
2. Pemuda yang taat kepada Allah sejak kecil.
3. Lelaki yang terpaut hatinya dengan masjid.
4. Dua orang yang saling kasih-mengasihi kerana Allah.
5. Lelaki yang diajak oleh wanita yang mempunyai kedudukan dan cantik, lalu ia berkata: “Aku takut kepada Allah”.
6. Orang yang bersedekah secara sembunyi sehingga tidak mengetahui tangan kirinya apa yang diberi oleh tangan kanannya.
7. Orang yang bermunajat kepada Allah sambil menggelinangkan airmatanya.

Oleh itu marilah kita mendekatkan diri kita dengan masjid, pastikan setiap solat berjemaah di lakukan dimasjid dan mengisi masa terluang kita untuk menimba ilmu di masjid-masjid kerana disinilah tempat yang mudah untuk mendapatkan ilmu yang bermanfaat tanpa perlu membayarnya. Di masjid juga tempat untuk mententeramkan jiwa kerana para malaikat rahmat sentiasa berada di masjid melakukan ibadah dan mendoakan dan merahmati ahli-ahli masjid yang solat, berikhtikaf dan menuntut ilmu.
